found this polka layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com bI am a self-confessed hand bag junkie. So many things about bags excite me. This bag excites me. That leather excites me. That bag with those shoes and that dress excites me. That's kind of been my problem. Too many things about bags really do excite me. I can't say that a certain category of bags excite me because I am open to so many of them. Beverly Hills Bratz was designed with a specific aesthetic and influences - color, trends, LA lifestyle, music, and that is only a few of them. Luckily my store and handbag line are my forum to explore all of them and more.
Where does a purse fit into our lifestyles? It's about much more than carrying personal items. There's nothing like a brand new bag. You love the way it smells when you take it out for the very first time. You love the way it feels when you use it the first time. You love the compliments and envious glances it gets when you are going about your day. Somewhere along the line, bag prices skyrocketed. I remember walking into Gucci on Michigan Avenue in Chicago in 2001, and dropping a quick $800.00 for a satchel. Let me justify this really quickly; I still carry that same bag from time to time. Gucci never goes out of style. Fast forward to 2007, you can carry a brand new Chloe clutch/wristlet for the same price. The average price tag for a designer bag is $1500.00; and that is on the low end in LA. Why the huge difference in 6 years? Is the economy that messed up? No. Quite simply, designer bags have become the new luxury car or SUV. Designer bags have become a status symbol like driving a BMW, Hummer, or Mercedes Benz. As a matter of fact, recent surveys have found that some women are willing to pass up driving that BMW as long as they get to carry the latest Balenciaga or Fendi bag.
I hear you on all of that, and as much as I love bags, I do have to draw the line. For example, I have recently been carrying a white leather legacy bag look alike, that I sell for $45.00. Why not? After all, white bags are only 'IN' for about 3 months. It doesn't make sense to me to spend $1500.00 on a white designer bag that I will only carry for a few months. I am also the type of girl who changes accessories A LOT. I mean, this purse has to match those pair of shoes, and so on. You get the picture ... I live in LA, so that's my excuse for that. I never carry the same bag for 6 months or a year straight. Because this is the case, I do have some very high end bags in my closet and a ton of cheapies too. As gorgeous as the Chloe wristlet is with a price tag of $745.00 at Nordstrom, there is no way I would be able to rationalize paying that kind of money for something the size of a wallet that can only carry my id, credit card and maybe a lip gloss. It couldn't even fit my Shiseido compact! My favorite little evening bag right now is a lizard print clutch with silver horsebit hardware on the front. The chain link shoulder strap is detachable and interchangeable and I sell them for about $29.99. BTW, I always receive compliments on that little bag.
I believe today's fashionista is just as diverse as the bag trends that come and go, if not more. I don't believe that one coveted designer bag is going to be enough to satisfy all of your needs for the price tag. I do believe that she needs more than just one way to express her personal style. That is where beverlyhillsbratz.net comes in. We are the mediator between your fashion needs and new must have trends; without price gouging your wallet.
