Although her toddler voice had barely developed it became clear to her extended family and friends that this little girl had an enormous voice. As she moved into her school years, Sarah’s interest in performance developed further when she joined a local disco-dance crew and her natural talent for dancing became abundantly clear when she was 6 years old and became a ‘supreme champion dancer’ before representing Scotland in the U.K disco dancing championships. Having gained a reputation for her dancing exploits Sarah also moved into performing in theatre productions and pantomimes,as well as playing leading roles in school productions she thoroughly enjoyed being able to display her vocal talent as well as showing off her dancing skills at the same time.As Sarah moved into her teens, her mother was proud to put her only daughter forward as a contestant in numerous karaoke and cabaret competitons all over Scotland in which Sarah would more often than not win first place. Her involvement in the much maligned karaoke/cabaret competitions allowed Sarah’s voice to become stronger and helped her develop a more diverse vocal range, and eventually she ended up being asked to host such competitions.When Sarah left school she undertook a course in Theatre Arts.Having reignited her passion for singing, Sarah was fortunate enough to have been spotted by a music industry manager who was in the process of starting an all vocal girl group. Along with three other Scottish female vocalists, Sarah started working with the band part-time.Later that year she earned her first modeling contract which would later help her in the bands photoshoots. Having worked really hard with the other girls in the group for over a year, their manager decided it was time for the band to become full-time. The group went on to release a full studio album and had three top 40 singles, as well as completing a grueling tour of U.K and The Republic of Ireland. Sarah was fortunate enough to have taken part in some huge festivals such as ‘Irn-Bru Live and Loud’ at Hampden Stadium , ‘In The City’ at Britannia Stadium , MEN Arena, Wembley Stadium to name a few.When the band split in 2005, having discovered the conflict of interests in their management and recording agreements, Sarah was looking to further develop her vocal skills and put her voice to better use. In the meantime, Sarah signed a contract to become the face of Naturasun, a multi-national spray tanning company. When she re-focussed on music she discovered she had grown sick of singing predictable pop melodies and being told how to sing, what to sing and when to sing. She decided to join hip-hop outfit Empafy in order to be more involved in ‘street level’ music. Sarah’s vocal talent and understanding of the industry and attention to intellectual property has continued to develop since joining Empafy. She is now more involved in the whole music process from sampling to song writing to programming backing-tracks and arranging final mixes of songs. As well as working on Empafy’s debut studio album ‘Social Insecurity’ Sarah is also working on her own solo RnB/Soul/Funk album which will be ready for release in the summer of 2008.
