About Me

Let's see...about me, what can I tell you...I have the most wonderful son in the world who is kind, creative and a bit eccentric. I believe without music there is no life. I believe that all people should know how to drive a stick shift, how to roll a smoke and how to juggle. I find it hard to believe that so much of this world refuses to acknowledge their spiritual or metaphysical side.
I believe that you should try everything once. I love the smell of patchouli. I think fresh pineapple could possibly be the greatest food on earth. Dogs generally make me nervous but we just got a great one, so I'm re-thinking my position on the canine species as a whole.
I definitely have a problem with "authority figures". I don't much care for the color orange. I'm underpaid. My name is Julia and I hate it when people call me "Julie" - if you can't manage the extra syllable then go with "Jules". I believe there's too much violence in the movies and not enough sex. I hate racism and homophobia. I don't believe in eating animal corpses. And I don't like mushrooms on my pizza.

My Interests

My son, my ex-hubby/current boyfriend/partner/baby daddy (yes, that's all the same person), my family, music, photography, reading, movies, travel, tattoos, graveyards

I'd like to meet:

Whoever.

Music:

In no particular order: Hoodoo Gurus, Audioslave, Bob Marley, Chris Cornell, Nick Cave, Lenny Kravitz, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden - that whole Seattle grunge thing. Defunct Detroit bands Second Self, Crossed Wire, Walk on Water. Tons more too, but this is all I can think of at the moment.

Movies:

Hard Candy, Bliss (Australian), Rocky Horror Picture Show, Harold and Maude, Willy Wonka/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, It's a Wonderful Life, Harry Potter (after watching this series a million times with my son they've grown on me). I'll watch just about anything with John Cusack, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lukas Haas or Lili Taylor in it. I tend to like movies that are usually classified as independent.

Television:

L.A. Ink, Rock of Love (I can't believe I got sucked in to this one). Also, Futurama, Simpsons, Dog Whisperer, although I haven't really watched any of these in a while. Lately Mike's got me watching Ghost Hunters and Tigers baseball games.

Books:

Stephen King, suspense, horror, biographies, Henry Rollins, most anything except romance.

Heroes:

My mom, firefighters, Martin Luther King, Jr., single moms everywhere.

Okay, so Tyler went to this camp where they are teaching a bit of the bible.  Since I'm not religious in the slightest, he has had absolutely no exposure to anything about Christianity or the bib...
