About Me

I'm a literal jack of all trades. This applies to my work, play, and musical interests. I've found that even music that doesn't appeal to me, if it was founded in a passionate vein, I can appreciate it. This tells me the root of creative energy is passion. Am I a tremendously talented musician/poet/actor/playwrite/director? No, by no means. Am I passionate? Hell, I have a problem writing a Birthday card if I'm not passionate about it...So who am I? I'm a walking contradiction that loves music, beer, the Pacific Northwest, movies, beer and women. Yeah, very general, but to tell you what kind of music, what kind of beer, what kind of movies, and what sort of women I like would ruin it, right? Let's just say it's gotta be passionate (or hoppy when it comes to beer). Created with mySpace Profile Editor

My Interests

I love beer. Did I already say that? Well, I mean good beer. And I love movies. Violent, passionate, intriguing, comedic, horrific, dramatic... Just about anything goes as long as it's done well. I also love the outdoors, music (playing and listening), women, beer, and books. Other things rock, too, but most are tied to those seven or so things, right? Oh, and I love food. Anything but liver or tofu, I am all about getting satiated!

I'd like to meet:

A) One of my favorite song writers (David Faulkner, Tom Waits, Todd A, Liz Phair, John Hiatt, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, Fiona Apple... Too bad so many are dead: Mark Sandman, Tim Buckley, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix... Ok, so Jimi wasn't the greatest lyricist, but he'd still be cool to hang out with), B) I could go on listing people, but anyone with half a brain, a sense of humor, and a genuine opinion about anything is worth talking to. I think the "greats" of our existence are just those people that talked to a lot of other people. That and they were passionate (or someone just thought they could make a lot of money off of them). I don't necessarily like a lot of people, but most of those people don't have half a brain, a sense of humor, or any opinion that is actually their own. Call me picky.

Music:

Hoodoo Gurus, Firewater, The Mono Men, Radio Birdman, Electric Frankenstein, Tom Waites, Fu Manchu, Kyuss, Joe Jackson (not the dad, the songwriter), Flogging Molly, Metallica, Ramones, Bjork, Cheap Trick, Cracker, Chris Isaak, John Hiatt, Faith No More, Elvis Costello, Liz Phair, Patti Smith, Morphine, The Who, Jethro Tull, Bootsauce, Tool... Ok, so I'm even getting confused now. The list isn't even close to over...

Movies:

Dead Man, Blue Velvet, Airplane!, Boondock Saints, Shaun of the Dead, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, (This is) Spinal Tap, Heathers, Better Off Dead, The Limey, Dead Alive, Audition, Batman (T. Burton), Batman Begins, Evil Dead (I, II, and A.O.D), Twin Peaks (Fire Walk with Me), El Mariachi, Young Frankenstein, Cannibal The Musical, The Big Lewbowski, Fargo, Sin City, Dr. Strangelove, Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, La Enamorada, Cabin Fever, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind... Ok, so this is going the same way my musical interests went. Best I stop now...

Television:

TWIN PEAKS!!!!!!! I've been a fan for many years, have seen the series many times, and I still think it's the best thing to happen to television since Groucho Marx! Some of the best characters ever developed, and an environment you're never quite sure of. Others I've gotten into are Six Feet Under, Arrested Development, Dead Like Me, The Simpsons, Ren and Stimpy, and lately, Deadwood and Heroes. Can't forget the oldies, though: .

Books:

Choke by Chuck Palahniuk, Job: A Comedy of Justice by Robert Heinlein, So Far From God by Ana Castillo, The Water Method Man by John Irving, Still Life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins, The Stand by Stephen King, The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevski, The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum, The Canterbury Tales by Geoffery Chaucer. Again, I'll stop now for time's sake...

Heroes:

My Dad, my Mom, and Thomas Jefferson. Many of my friends are my heroes as well, just because they don't take crap from anyone when it comes to who they are. My brothers and few others are included, like Tom Malone and Travis McGhee. I'm also a fan of Hunter S. Thompson and Joseph Campbell. Great people leave a massive wake.
