I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am an alaskan girl. We are a kind unto ourselves, I think. We're strong, intelligent, creative, passionate, varying degres of crazy, and our bond with the physical world seems stronger in certain ways than most I've met in other places. We all play hard, love hard, living life in a big way. Growing up in alaska shaped so many things about myself that I value; the strong work ethic I have, the love of working with my hands, the value I place in the beauty of our world, the love of family, the ability to get along with different kinds of people- winter is LONG and DARK- , the humbling feeling you get when you are in the middle of the ocean, and you can't see land, the horizon so big, and when you are near land, the piercing mountainpeaks, the rolling , emerald hills, the waterfalls, the seabirds- all of the wildlife that swirls around you when you pass through the land or the sea, everything pulsing with big life, with unending movement and rhythm. So i am an aquarius, a mother of two, a partner, a sister, a daughter. I am a bodyworker- my job has to do with that big rhythm, that unending movement, that big life that we all contain, but don't always feel. I am a poet, an artist, a herbalist. I am a silly girl, a heart broken and mended and mended, a hard life that has pounded me into that rhythm rather than ease me into it gently, I am a dreamer and an idealist still, though- though most of all that is because I am alaska, too. I am bursting with alaska sometimes, and life down here, even as close as WA, doesn't grab at you as hard,and....sometimes that's a good thing.

Remembering Her Great Shout

There is no tender awakening in this world. No gentle introduction, no liquid caress without blood, no crooning until the violence is done. I had a sweet lover once who laughed at the moon and shouted...

Arising Behind Hope

Gruesome fingers of fog stretch quietly into place; my heart quails at the lonesome clutch that corresponds in my chest as I survey the darkening furrow of landscape before me. The quark of the should...

Shiver and sigh

Intricacies of interest

How important is it to put your mind into a variation of places?, I ask the cat at my feet, as he chews on my sock and rabbit kicks my pant leg. Do most of us feel stagnant after a certain time in a c...

Droplets of mist surround me lightly, I await your muse of November

To catch 12 leaves I would be luckily ensconsed within a year of poetry, and I would long for these November days throughout, grey vale of terpsichorean fog and clinging cloud entwined with rain black...
