Helen has a varied career in theater, music, recording and film.Her new cd release on Edel Music, “Like A Womanâ€, is a mixture of folk, pop, and blues featuring songs from such great composers as Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, and more.On the stages of Berlin to Broadway, she’s played the great ladies of the stage: Eva Peron in “Evitaâ€, Norma Desmond in “Sunset Boulevardâ€, Frida Kahlo in “Fridaâ€, Sally Bowles in “Cabaretâ€, Reno Sweeney in “Anything Goesâ€, Victor/Victoria in “Victor, Victoriaâ€, Hayyah in “Ghettoâ€, Anna in “Seven Deadly Sinsâ€, and Anne Sexton in “Transformations Ver. 0.1â€.Helen’s favorites are her one woman shows – the award winning “A Walk on the Weill Side†received rave reviews at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall and was recorded and released on the CBS/Sony classical label. She wrote the autobiographical “A Voice and A Piano†which was recorded by Preiser Records and televised on 3SAT.In film, Helen starred in the American cult movie “Eddie and the Cruisers†and in the German film “Mauritius-Losâ€.Helen has produced and/or co-written a number of her 17 albums (including the gold hit “Rock ‘n Roll Gypsyâ€) spanning the worlds of pop, theater, opera and jazz.
