About Me

Hello all out there, I wanna introduce myself in a few words. Born in hungary, my mother escaped 1956 with us (my twinsister ... god bless her ... and me) to germany. My father, who was an innovative jazz trumpet player has been on tour in germany at this time. After he realized what's going on in hungary ... (guess you all know a little about history ..... october 1956 / Budapest / Russian invasion / Tanks / Molotow Cocktails etc.) ... he decided to stay in germany. My sister and I were 8 month old at this time. From now on my father played in Big Bands, Radio and TV-Orchestras until he died a couple of years ago. 1973 I started to play in my first band as guitar player. I'm sure you all know how it is, when literally everything seems to happen by itself. Whatever you do works out fine. So it didn't take long and I was a session player in studios here and had my first really "successful" bands. I played, toured and recorded with many bands and artists since then. If you're interested in more details about my career and band history, then please visit my other website: guitarero2002.myownmusic.de !
In the mid 90's I was badly afflicted with health problems plus I had to raise my beloved son. So I more or less quit the music business for about 10 years. In the meantime my son has grown up and developed very well (I'm so proud) and I have overcome my illness. Right now I'm not a steady member of a band. Sometimes a live session with friends and some studio work. I lead a qiet and peaceful life outside of munich in a small village among indomitable bavarians and work on new stuff. Hell .. all the time I want to sing or play they tie me up and lay me down under a tree. So all I get is the smell of the roast pork. (Guess that's the reason why I look more like Asterix and not like Obelix) But once in awhile one of 'em shows mercy and comes along to brings me a mug of fresh beer. Did I tell you, that we have fantastic cerveza here in bavaria? Did I? Yeah .. and so after 2 or 3 mugs I start thinking about, if it's the right time for a guitar player's comeback. But!! Aren't we all "musicians"? I guess any time is the right time for a musician. At least it's worth trying it. Oh ... before I forget it. I think it was back '78 or '79 when I saw Emmett Chapman for the first time in my life, playing his stick. It was at the Frankfurt Music Exhibition. When I heard him I was so impressed, that I thought. Whenever the day comes, that I'm tired of playing guitar this would be a real challenge. Well - now I have a STICK. (SN: 342 / all you out there in the STICK-Community: Don't become envious! lol) So let's see what happens next.
This site here is non-commercial. Means: I don't post new songs to promote them. (this will probably change, as soon as I recorded enough new material. grin). But until that happens I pick out songs from various projects I've been involved with, to give the ones of you, who are interested a retrospection of what I did in the past. I will change the songs in periodical intervals. Some of you will probably say, that the sound of the songs do not have today's quality standards. Well it's simple to explain. Since almost everything I recorded (the "expensive and glistening" productions) is released and I don't own the distribution rights, I cannot present it here on my space. What you will hear on this site are the "not so expensive" or so called "low budget productions", that we made in the gaps. But this doesn't mean, that the music is not as good. It simply didn't cost that much from the production side. A lot of it has been "quick shots". For example the guitar school stuff. 12 lessons and each of them recorded in a day, including the final mix. I'm pretty sure, that you mean what I know.
Now to the current songs in the player above:
A selection of my work I did, with Bands and solo. ENJOY!****************************************************** ***

Influences: many influences. Where should I begin. Starting with the Beatles across the decades I always liked, when musicians were able to write good song and play their instruments at a certain level. So I have no special preferences. The only criteria is: It must touch my soul! Here are 2 examples. If you're interested, than please visit this link and watch a wonderful live performance. Jay Graydon & David Foster playing AIRPLAY

Th next artist is my absolute favorite at this time.
Sue Leonard ... a fantastic singer and songwriter. Her voice and her music's giving you goosebumps! (At least it has that effect on me) Go and check her out!

"Lullaby" George Gershwin performed by Quartetto

Eberhard Schoener a german classical composer and conductor arranged 2 live concerts in an Opera Hall in Hamburg for the 100th Birthday of Kurt Weill.
Kurt Weill was the composing half of the duo Berthold Brecht/Kurt Weill. You sure all know the "Three Penny Opera"; "Mahogany" or the song "Mack the knife".
The show was performed by the cream of german studio and band musicians along with a classical symphonic orchestra. The leadsingers were: Sting, Jack Bruce and Gianna Nannini.
We (Quartetto) had a solo part in the show and played George Gershwins "Lullaby", since he was a contemporary composer with Kurt Weill.
This was on the 1st of May 1987 .. and as far as I remember one of our first live performances with Quartetto. Besides "Lullaby" we had pieces of other classical composers in our playlist .. like
J.S. Bach "Air", "Gavotte", "Orchestra Suite in b-minor"
W. A. Mozart "Minuetto in g"
Guiseppe Verdi "4 Seasons"
Scott Joplin "Ragtime Dance"
but also "contemporary classical music" like
Beatles "Because", "Eleanor Rigby"
Band members from left to right:
Frank Horvath g; Mick Brehmen b; Paul Vincent g; Thomas Kretschmer g

The next video is a performance in the show "Live From The Alabama", which used to be a very popular Live Music Show on german TV.
I performed it with the band "Bartosh And The Banned" and the song's called
Not Yet The End Of The Night
