The Smiley Pixie’s project began in summer 2004, Fernando’s first concept was to join ambient eletronic music with fantastic/celtic landspaces, but later on he just folowed what he was feeling at the time! ; exploring all kinds of ideas. Mind travelling from oriental to latin american, and always experementing with psychedelic electronic music, Ambient, Break beat, IDM, Lounge, Drumnbass, Goa Trance always exploring with influences from alot of music, mostly electronic.Bands and projects like The prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Shpongle, Hallucinogen, Blue Tech, aphex twin.
Smiley has played in alot of gigs, nacionaly and internationaly... sometimes solo, sometimes in his friend and Guitar / bassPlayer Bruno Oliveira! "The SmileyPixie" is one of the best projects you can find in Psychedelic Chill and Ambient music in Portugal! released various tracks in , Peak Records and Kagdila Records in 2005. including "Chasing frogs and fairies!" "Sprites & Spells", in that time he also joined and defined a new sound for a new Label, Quantic-Chill records and Goagadarmagazine... A talented and creative group of people!
In 2006, he released "Free music for free people" , a free album, With goagadarmagazine and quantic-chill records! 5000 copies were made and distributed for free!
2007, quantic-chill did another release with smileypixie releasing 2 tracks, "The Walk", "Ride on the country side"
Now with a new studio, new ideas, feelings and inspiration... Fernando’s music is beginning to get more and more twisted for up-coming events!
