Black Star (Talib Kweli and Mos Def)
My cousin hollered, "You're shot." I got up and tried to jump over the tree stumps in the street,: and as soon as I got in mid-air another blast hit me in my back. And I fell on the ground again. Somehow, it was a miracle, I got up again, and I began to run. I heard [the white guys] saying, "Nigger, you gotta run." I ran around a corner and I saw this black guy sitting on the porch, and I said "Man, help me." And he said, "Come on," but he was in the house with some white people. When I went to the back of the house, this white lady said "I can't help you. You gotta get out of here." So I ran away from their house. And I ran up to this truck with two white with two white guys, and I said, "Please, please, please help me." I felt like I was going to die. And the older white guy said, "Get away from my truck. We can't help you. We're liable to shoot you ourselves." And they pulled off and called me a nigger. It's like [white people] were using the opportunity to do something they've been waiting to do. And I'm thinking about racism and all that's running in my head. I'm like. "I can't believe this." After everything we've gone through, and everything I've been through, I would have never imagined this happening to me.

I watch alot of movies but i hardly remember the titles.
Once We Were Warriors, thats a good one. Oh let me take this chance to say that I hated Motorcycle Diaries, mainly because it showed the most uninteresting part of the man's life, i'm anxiously awaiting the sequel
This I watch, proudly,I live on Comedy Central, South PArk, the Daily Show, The Colbert Report. Lets not forget our white liber middle class friends at Adult Swim who bring us anti-worker classics like Family Guy. Aqua Teen Hunger Force... so strange its good. Venture Brothers, who doesn't like this funny remake of an old racist cartoon? Go Team Venture! I'm also hooked on Samuri Champloo, Japanese revisionist history is fun, i'm waiting for the episode(s) that deny the invasion of China.
The Book of Life and the Communist Mainfesto, but mostly the Book of Life I'm currently reading some James Baldwin, he's a great writer, I like his mentors and contemporaries too, it was a great time for literature from the pens of Black american lefties.
I am my own fuckin hero. The world doesn't need heroes to guide us and for us to look up to. We can initiate and lead our own struggles. This is one of my major beefs with capitalist society. It teaches since we are old enough to watch cartoons, that we must seek benevolent leadership, thats bullshit, belief in yourself and your own power to fight man, if you learn anything from me let it be that, you can be the next Malcolm X, the next Che Guevara, the next Bobby Sands. The times will force you to be political, why not get a head start?
