My Interests

Travel, music, football (that's soccer to the luddites who don't know what proper football is), literature, cinema, theatre, food... been known to indulge in the occasional cigarette...

I'd like to meet:

some cool people, into music, travel, literature... well, just about anything, really! Interpervs can go back the way they came, though...

Music:

Currently listening to: Rachid Taha, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Faith No More, Novos Baianos, De La Soul, Talib Kweli, Stevie Wonder, Kanye West, Saian Supa Crew, Busta Rhymes, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, and random Bollywood songs.All-times favourites include: Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, Cat Stevens.Brazilian (batucada, samba, bossa nova), Cuban (merengue, salsa etc.), Punjabi (lol), Indian music generally, hiphop, soul, R&B, rai, pop... So long as it has a vibe, I'm there!

Movies:

Too many to mention, really, but faves include: City of God, Amelie, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Adventues of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, The Machinist, Night Junkies, Children of Men, Les Visiteurs, Enter the Dragon, and all the Monty Python films

Television:

Football coverage, mostly...Actually, TV isn't very high on my list of priorities (trying to avoid the downward spiral that comes with watching trashy telly)

Books:

Cien Anos De Soledad (absolute favourite book ever ever EVER), Schindler's Ark, Quicksilver, David Copperfield, Dona Flor And Her Two Husbands, Dirty Havana Trilogy (and it's really REALLY dirty), and any Calvin & Hobbes (modern classics, each and every one!).Currently reading "The Tao Te Ching" by Lao Tzu and "Zazie dans le métro" by Raymond Queneau (for the tenth time), having totally given up on the tree-hugging hippy stuff about auras...

Heroes:

Che GuevaraSteven Gerrard

The smallness of a big world and the power of words

Today has been a strange day for me on MySpace. I posted my "How very odd..." blog yesterday, and the response I've had to it has been quite extraordinary: I now know of two other people who play thei...

How very odd...

My good MySpace friend Seto has tagged me to write about ten weird things, foibles, quirks (or what you will) that mark my character. At first I was thinking that I would struggle to find ten and writ...

On how life is

Lately I've been thinking about karma and fairness. This will probably end up being a circuitous ramble of a blog, so apologies in advance if it makes for rather dreary reading.Seems to me that bad pe...
