Born in Paris, TN, Layne began singing at the age of 14 as the song leader for the New Bethel Church of Christ. He got his love for country music from his father who would play artist such as Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Sr., and Willie Nelson. He played his first 45, Burning Ring of Fire, until it was unrecognizable."Daddy played the guitar and sang alot to us at the house. We also got to hear him sing in church on Sunday. His talents came from my grandaddy who would do the same, only he played the fiddle and mandolin. I guess that family influence is how I caught my fever for music."Layne began writing music and singing in college at local fraternity events. That is when influences like Hank Williams Jr. and George Strait began to shine through. For more information about Layne, please visit www.laynewrye.com .
