RINGOLERO IS A SOLO ARTIST, AND ALSO ONE HALF (CO-FOUNDER) OF THE RAP GROUP THE RISC. RINGOLERO IS ALSO THE FOUNDER AND C.E.O OF THE DOUJAMAN MOVEMENT, A MOVEMENT PRIMARILY FOR A PLATFORM FOR THE YOUNGERS TO BE HEARD AND BE A PART OF. RINGOLERO HAS RELEASED 3 DISCS TO DATE: ‘HAMMER VERSE OF HORRORS’ FEATURING SYNISTA HUSTLER (2005), ‘AFTER THE MASSACRE’ AS PART OF THE RISC (SUMMER 2005), AND MOST RECENTLY ‘HOW TO BE AN EMCEE’ A 23 TRACK MIX/ALBUM (SEP 06). RINGOLERO IS NOW GEARING UP TO RELEASE HIS FOURTH DISC ENTITLED ‘HARD BARS FROM THE GRAVE-YARD’, AND ALSO TO COLLABORATE ON THE UPCOMING DOUJAMAN MOVEMENT RELEASE AND THE RISC ALBUM TO NAME A FEW.Ringolero was born and grown in Myatts Field Estate, Brixton, South London. The eldest born to a Rastafarian Father and Christian Mother, both of African-Caribbean descent. Ringo (as he was known then) has been influenced by music from a very early age. Music such as Reggae, Roots & Culture, Dub, Studio One, Lovers Rock, Revival and Soul. Emcees such as Ninjaman, Big Yout, Hammer Mout and Capleton to name a few, had a big impact on him and after joining sound systems such as Mystic Love as a mic-man Ringo started using the skills he had learnt from these artists. In 1988 Ringo was introduced to the Hip Hop music by Big Daddy Kane, with a cassette tape of the album Long Live the Kane. This was the beginning of Ringo’s love affair with Hip Hop music. He wrote lyrics and started modelling himself on his idol, calling himself Young Kane. Living in London, UK and being open to so many different music types Ringo started to show interest in Drum & Bass the early nineties. Before long Ringo was emceeing with friends DJ Publo and Flego Barker in Publo’s bedroom, then onto radio stations such as Breeze FM, Fundamental FM and Finally Rude FM. Ringo stayed in the D&B arena for about 9 years with his last radio performance being in January 2001 on Rude FM 88.4, with DJ Ricky Redeye. Ringo then came back to his emcee roots in Hip Hop. Over the years Ringolero had a lot of involvement with various group and individuals whilst trying to make something of himself in the music industry. People such as Scamer, an emcee whom Ringo met on the Drum and Bass circuit in the nineties, Scamer and Ringo collaborated well with each other and years later would come together to form the rap group The RiSc and release the mixtape ‘After the Massacre’. To this day they are still collaborating as The RiSc. Corey Johnson, of Defenders LOS is someone Ringo has always been musically linked to over the years. From the early days when they were both emceeing through headphones in Ringo’s front room on his stepfathers stereo system to more recently collaborating on the track Local Groupies which featured on Ringolero’s album release ‘How to be an Emcee’. Young Shellz, Young Hamz, and Snake; of Organised Crime (OC) and Shower-man Gang (SMG) rep The DOUJAMAN MOVEMENT! Synista Hustler of Hustler Entrerprises has collaborated with Ringolero since his first mixtape ‘Hammer Verse of Horrors’ and has featured on every other release since then.
