My Interests

Reducing stress and anxiety (my own and others), less being more, leaving small footprints, having big talks, bringing chaos into order, leveling the playing field, changing the world, etc.

I'd like to meet:

Smart, sassy, self-aware folks just trying to make their way on this spinning orb - bonus if you have a burning desire to somehow leave things better than how you found them. JAH. Everyone.

Music:

Pretty eclectic but I always love modern singer-songwriters like Paulo Nutini, Ben's Brother, Schuyler Fisk, Terra Naomi, Terra Lee, Joshua Radin, Zucchero, Imogen Heap, Sia and folks like that. On the other hand, we play Tokio Hotel and Fall Out Boy in the car going to and from soccer.

Movies:

Recent faves ~ War Dance, Lake of Fire, The Savages, The Orphanage, Once, Iron Man, The Kite Runner, Something Like Happiness, Lars and the Real Girl,

Television:

I spend down time watching DVDs from Netflix but have been caught up in programs on The Learning Channel, The History Channel, Bravo, The Food Network, etc. I've never really understood the appeal of The Simpson's or Family Guy but people I freakin' adore fall off the couch laughing at the stuff so who am I to judge?

Books:

This list would take years - I read all the time - I even keep a pile of books in my car to make the most of any time I spend waiting for anything. I love American lit, modern and confessional poetry, anything related to pop culture, investigative journalism, exceptional narrative fiction, memoirs of almost anyone, historical analysis, most things related to medicine and health, etc.

Heroes:

I try not to elevate people to a level where they'll get hurt if they fall. We're all human. Do the best you can. Be kind. Forgive easily. Laugh as often as possible. Seek peace.
