Tribal Tattoos by Rory

I'm a tattoo artist who specializes in "tribal" tattoos. So, what are tribal tattoos? Well, they're generally designs that are based on the tattooing of tribal cultures, most often from the many and various Pacific Islands. The term has come to mean most tattoos that are abstract and executed in solid black.
I was fortunate enough to apprentice under Leo Zulueta at Black Wave, in L.A. back in 1997. I eventually returned to San Diego where I first did a short stint at Superfly Tattoo, and then went to Jade Tattoo in Hillcrest for five years.
Now I can be found at Guru Tattoo, in Pacific Beach. You can see me there Sundays through Wednesdays, Noon to 8 PM.
