With an innovative artistic style that is dominated by a powerful use of color, and an amazing eye for composition and space, Ambre Anderson's creativity is unmistakably phenomenal. Early on, her high school art teacher admitted, "It is a sin to let talent like this go to waste!" She even restructured the art curriculum in efforts to unleash Ambre's creative prowess. At Howard University, it was with a strong foundation of confidence, that Ambre changed her major from political-science to Fine Arts. Even with a choice that many would regard as impractical, her talents would certainly not be wasted. In fact, the dean took one glance at Ambre's portfolio and offered her a scholarship.The Baltimore native bloomed with a determination for success. While attending Howard, she balanced being a student on the dean's list, with working as a congressional assistant, and interning at the Zenith Art Gallery. She also interned for the National Endowment for the Arts and received awards from competitions at Howard University's Gallery of Art.Moving to New York shaped Ambre's creative edge. Perservereance and being multitalented pushed her to stack challenges. While creating artwork, she also established herself as an actress and model. Ambre landed campaigns for major companies including, Coke, Burger King, Verizon Wireless and Soft & Beautiful to name a few. Her talents converged when she booked a Jeep ad campaign in which she portrayed a painter. During the Jeep photo shoot the casting directors discovered Ambre's exceptional ability as a true artist. Not only did they hire her for the print ad, but she was also chosen for the Jeep television commercial as well. "Working to intertwine originality and talented passion with movement and color is my ongoing artistic agenda." Her artwork provokes challenge through social issues and explores emotion in through relationships. Influenced by pioneer artists such as Aaron Douglas, Elizabeth Catlett and Romare Bearden, Ambre dominates a signature style difficult to match. Currently she is preparing for a solo show in NYC, working on an album cover design and she recently established "Artwork by Ambre" : her online art company. It specifically features the "Soul Collection", a series of rhythmic, contemporary collages inspired by the Harlem Renaissance artist, Romare Bearden."My biggest fear is getting in my own way. Life is my one opportunity and I have no choice but to follow my passion."
