About Me

//////////////BETTER_WORLD_INC. /// CONNECTING PEOPLE TOO
Better_World_Inc. started with a short-story once written by French photographer & artist JM Babonneau in Iceland. A humorous & ironic story about a delirious genetic research company finding a secret recipe for mass-producing top models.
Graduated from the Art Academy of Fine Arts of Nantes, France (BA), from the French National School of Photography in Arles (Master) and educated some time by Lucien Clergue, photographer of Picasso & Cocteau and co-founder of the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie in Arles in 1969. Jean-Marie has since his childhood outside the borders of France, enjoyed finding inspiration and new perspectives in other cultures.
All-in-1, Photographer, Graphic & Web designer, Artist, Art-teacher (photography workshops), and VJ (with animated photographs), JMB aka. Better_World_Inc. works with images on:
Photographic series, Book prototypes, Art Exhibitions, Assigned photography (Fashion, Music, Architecture, Corporate, Editorial), Visual promotion, Animations, Websites, Installations, Projections.

My Interests

Art & Politics & Sensual Pleasures Of Life

I haven't become a robot yet, although our bureaucracy all pushes us towards becoming more mechanical, uniformized, easily controlable and trackable. Read Franz Kafka and Milan Kundera's essay "The Curtain / Le Rideau", 2005, and see what is happening around us with constant new laws forbidding more and more and choking individual freedom & responsability for the sake of democracy and people's paranoia nurished everyday by the mass-media. There is no more windows to open in the trains, there you are not allowed to have conversations on your mobile phone, and only move when necessary not to disturb the other paralyzed passengers, you cannot smoke anywhere in public (better if you hide underground), you can't eat in busses, you can't piss in the street even if it's an urgent need, although dogs might, not humans, etc... But you're allowed to not saying hello, not holding the door for your fellow, not washing your hands after going to the loo, not cleaning your trash after the barbecue in the park because many of you think paying enough taxes for foreigners to clean the shit. Many also think it is normal to invade and make war and kill thousand of civilians in a poorer country a few thousand kilometers away. You call it harmony, you call it security.

As soon as you make a move, you take position and people will react. Others will like you or dislike you. It's always been like this, and it's better than remaining passive and therefore inexistant. Life is short, so put your cards on the table, there is no time to loose. Let's try to make these exchange and communication opportunities given on myspace enjoyable and fertile in new ideas and creations.

It's easy to do glamour photographs, much easier than doing personal & original photographs...

I'd like to meet:

Artists, people who like what they do in life and took the decisions to bring them to realize their dreams, enthousiastic and open-minded people, a pretty girl with the above qualities, people who don't spend their life denigrating others to feel their own existence's worth, lifes based on generosity of soul, people who aren't afraid of having their own opinions and tastes, even if they aren't mainstream and fashionable in 2007. ABOUT ME
Not skeleton-slim like a pop-star, not teen-young like a retouched model-face, not as clever as an E=mc2 jew, not as fanatic as a beatle-groupie in the sixties, not as blond as Blondie, I am a french man in Copenhagen, an artist & a photographer who is passionate for his art, sometimes an art that can explore different medias, still pictures and moving pictures, drawings, installations, projections. Have a look around and write me your impressions. I could have been a musician or an actor, but who knows, maybe I'll make you cry or laugh one day. One day maybe you'll love me too. Until then I'll carry on with what I do, my simple mission on earth as an entertaining clown in the fields of arts. I'll travel the world, learn new languages, talk to hundreds of people, take hundreds of pictures and build fantastic projects with other artists, and there in the crowd, one day, we'll recognize each other.

JM Babonneau, Copenhagen, 27th of september 2007

This is a road movie, by JM Babonneau aka. Better_World_Inc. ©2002-2007

there is a woman in this world,
she lives somewhere now, breathes every second far away,
she can sing or write or even photograph, she has her only way,
she can dress as a pin-up to surprise her lover one night.
she can climb trees and mountains, sail the oceans, cross the forests,
she knows the path to love, she knows the path to me,
although she sometimes forgets what good and evil mean.
One day we'll kiss, one day we'll make love, one day we'll marry.
One day she will want my seeds without protection, one day she'll fall pregnant,
and give us babies. We'll travel the world, but where ever we are together or apart,
we'll know there is a place in this world, we belong to. A place next to each other.
A place of love and a place where to feel at home.

JM Babonneau, Paris, 16th of september 2007

Photograph by Les Krims (1970)

Lars von Trier's initiative to mock the Danish Minister of Culture's project to gather Danish artworks to constitute a national danish art-canon! The banner says "Turn the -danish- flag upside-down". Art by nationality and by closed national criterias is not a relevant classification for me, and is revealing a nation's weakness to stand for it's newcomers and alien inputs. It is a static and conservative vision of culture, which is related to the present danish government's politic, making compromises with the extreme right votes. It is dangerous, and it seems that many haven't learnt their history lessons properly about fascism and art-canons.

My dream island in the Caribbeans
(yes, there is a place wearing my name on this island!)

Chanson du geôlier

Où vas-tu beau geôlier
Avec cette clé tachée de sang
Je vais délivrer celle que j'aime
S'il en est encore temps
Et que j'ai enfermée
Tendrement cruellement
