LARRY WASHINGTON *Drummer *Educator * Producer *Recording Artist *Composer A native of Detroit, Michigan, Beatworkz Music "recording artist Larry Washington has recorded & performed with some of the worlds top artists and musicians throughout the United States, Europe, Canada and Japan. He has performed at noted jazz clubs like the Blue Note and Baked Potato. Larry is active in both TV and film, and has appeared on major networks: MTV, VH1, BET, ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS. His movie appearances include "The Princess Diaries", "Whats Love Got to Do with It" and "Showgirls". Larry has also played on prerecorded soundtracks for "Sister Act 2 - Back in the Habit"and "Low Down Dirty Shame", and also contributed music to "The History Detectives" , "Drive" , "Animal Instinct 2",& the award winning Film "Section 8". As a composer, DVD releases include "Urban Combat", "Crystals Diary", & several movie trailers. Larry has received numerous Awards for composition work on the Power (PSA) that featured narrator Jeffrey Osborne. Washington also has enjoyed performing at prestigious events such as The Trumpet Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Diversity Awards and at The White House. Larry has performed and or as a Instructor / Clinician at several Universities, Public Schools, Music Stores & Houses of Worship throughout the United States. Larry works actively with several charities, and plays benefits for Fibromyalgia Research and others.Highly in demand as a performer and producer, Larry manages Beatworkz Ltd., performs clinics, concerts and tours throughout the year and still finds time to write, produce and maintain his publishing company.
