I like to go backpacking, although my body doesn't handle that as well as it used to. I admire and like to collect knives and would love to learn how to make them. I would also like to learn how to do stained glass. I enjoy collecting vintage pin-up art. I'm also collecting some old vinyl LP's.

I'd like to meet:
Here, on My Space, I would like to make new friends, male and female, between the ages of 21 and 60 and meet up with some old ones. If you are under 21 years old, please, don't try to contact me.
Music:
My musical interests are varied. I like rock, blues, different forms of jazz, classical and a very small (miniscule) amount of country - BUT NO RAP!!! There are two local bands that I enjoy and see every chance I get - The Fiddleworms and Ledbetter. I'm also a big fan of Eric Essix and Three On a String - both from Birmingham, AL. The Fiddleworms, Ledbetter and Eric Essix all have pages on My Space. Be sure to check them out. I'm also a huge Diana Krall fan. I have nearly all her CD's. What an incredible talent she is! Sade is another beautiful, sexy lady. I've been a fan since the first time I heard her fantastic voice. Her sexy style sets her far above the crowd. I also need to add Sons of Roswell to this list. These guys really rock! Check out their music on MySpace.
Movies:
I like a lot of movies. One of my favorites is "Road to Perdition" with Tom Hanks. Other movies that I like are "In Harm's Way", all the Star Wars movies, "Backdraft", "Lonesome Dove", "Open Range" - you get the idea.
Television:
I never miss an episode of "24". I like CSI in all it's incarnations, "Lost", "House", "Rescue Me", several others and "My name is Earl". I actually know people like that (smile). My wife and I also watch the Food Network a lot. We are big fans of Paula Deen, Alton Brown, Emerel and Iron Chef America.
Books:
I'm a big Tom Clancy fan. I've read quite a few of his books. I also like John Grisham. I'm only a couple of books short of having all of his in First Editions. I've read a lot of Stephen King. I loved the Dark Tower series. I'm also a big Tolkien fan. I've read the trilogy probably four times.
Heroes:
I'm not sure that I have any real heroes. However, I do admire the men and women in the space program - the astronauts who went up in those early space craft in the Mercury and Apollo missions. The courage it must take to continue to fly the space shuttle after two such horrendous disasters staggers the mind. Other heroes are people who live every day lives, working and being honest and honorable in all that they do.
