About Me

DOWNLOAD TUNESDenisse Sangiovanni is an Italian/Dominican singer/songwriter born in Dominican Republic and raised in the highly cultural domains of Miami, Florida. Her style is Folk Rock, and her lyrics contain a level of maturity and enlightenment that many songs in this day lack. Completely self taught, Denisse started playing guitar at the age of 16, and to this day breaking the boundaries of language through sound is her main priority. Now at the age of 22, Denisse Sangiovanni is living in Los Angeles, California trying to break into an industry that has since been lost in the rigidness of pop culture. Her partner in crime, Matt Zimmerman (a.k.a Dr. Z), from UpShot , is one of the most inspiring guitarists today. His rhythmic tone and vast knowledge on melodic compositions compliments the simplistic creations of their project AfterGlo. You will never meet a musician as devoted to the Craft as Dr. Z.The music currently posted on this site is from Denisse's 2005 solo album. MySpace will be updated in a few days.
