About Me

I’m basically a rock guitarist with strong blues and classical music influences; also a bit of indian music too. But actually I learn from every music as much as it comes from the soul.
My two first albums are available in most of the music download sites like iTunes, virginmega, fnacmusic, etc...under the name Matthieu Chell Pain or Matt Chell Pain, don’t worry it’s the same person;-)
I am now working on my two next albums which will be exclusively instrumental: "Whales", progressive and melancholy and "Steelfingers", mostly bluesy with only slide guitar, bass and tablas. I also have some projects with other musicians. I’ll keep you updated. I also built my amp (except the preamp section) and a slide/fretless guitar you can see on the pix section. Hope you’ll have fun running into this site.
Peace,
MCP

DISCOGRAPHY:

"The Mushrooms'Fantasy" (2006). A concept album, a kind of heroic-fantasy parody: some evil mushrooms plan to invade the forest where live the nice mushrooms...
The main music style is progressive metal but there's also some baroque counterpoint, flamenco, indian, symphonic music, etc...There are two other songs in this album not related to the Fantasy: Angel (dedicated to Jason Becker) - DCP, a friend of mine played 6th strings bass guitar - and Niccolo Paganini's 16th Caprice.

"Purple cheese propaganda" (2006). It's a kind of joke; a half length Cd very influenced by electronic & funk music. The five songs are also related to each other by a story (a purple cheese coming from space freezes the people that can't stop eating cheese...). The lyrics in every song are spoken and sometimes the old fashioned keyboard let the guitar play some jazz or heavy blues solo.

"Dirty frog blues" (2007). A more traditionnal album. Heavy blues songs and slow ballads. Contains also three covers: Voodoo child(slight return) of Jimi Hendrix, The pink panther of Henri Mancini & Little red rooster of Howlin' Wolf. Soon available.
