My Interests

a good fulfilling life that satisfies the soul balance, peace, understanding, achieving inner focus

I'd like to meet:

genuinely good, cool people

Music:

What's in my collection: Outkast (Andre), Jay-Z, Goodie MOB (first two albums), Gil Scott Heron, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Dead Prez, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Musiq, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Stylistics, Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, 112 (1st album is classic), Maxwell (when is the next album coming?), Kem, Sade, Les Nubians, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, De La Soul, Eric B & Rakim, Slick Rick, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg (back when we was Snoop Doggy Dogg), Tupac, DJ Screw...basically soulful, rich, good music. Basically anything but heavy metal and most country. I prefer old skool R&B, jazz, hip-hop. I'm kinda cool on new mainstream rappers right now. New artists I'm feeling: Kumasi, Ty-son, Ms. Latifah, Zaimah, Modern Day Prince, Mika'il

Movies:

I can watch any of these flicks anyday, anytime: Friday, Coming to America, The Godfather (I & II...Sonnie is the man), Scarface (with Pacino), Harlem Nights, Ray, Devil in a blue dress, LA Confidential, Heat, ATL, Last Dragon, Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco, Waterboy, Ace Ventura, The Mask, Liar Liar, more are coming.

Television:

Basketball and Sportscenter is about all I'll watch once I actually make time to get a TV and cable...(there's no rush) When I have the hardware, you may catch me watching these shows: Cosby Show, Fresh Prince, Seinfield, Law & Order (all except Trial by Jury...what were they thinking?)

Books:

Being in school forever got me outta of the habit of reading good books for fun. Here are some of the good books I've actually read when I found some time: Assata, The Da Vinci Code, Manchild in the Promise Land, Make Me Wanna Holler, Nigger, The Legend of Tarik, The Autobiography of Malcolm X. What I'm reading right now: First Things First by Stephen Covey, Selected Speeches of Marcus Garvey. Other than that, I like Historic novels, autobiographies, fiction mysteries, thrillers, Religious literature. If you know of any good books, let me know.

Heroes:

Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad (Peace on them all), Imam W. D. Muhammad, Shiekh Ahmad Kuftaro, My Mother & Father, Booker T. Washington, Harriet Tubman, Sojurner Truth, Frederick Douglass, Hajji Malik Shabazz (Malcolm X), Elijah Muhammad, My Grandparents, Martin Luther King Jr., Paul Robeson, Muhammad Ali, W.E.B. DuBois, Joe Louis, The Tuskeegee Airmen, all those who laid the foundation for us to be here today!
