HEBEPHRENIC were formed in the summer of 2002. After developing a strong local following which led to several packed local shows, the band began to travel further afield and have taken their unique brand of metal up and down the country.
HEBEPHRENIC'S sound is hard to pin down and falls somewhere between the band's myriad influences: metal, hardcore, electro, indie and industrial. When asked to list their influences, HEBEPHRENIC respond with a number of varied bands from American Head Charge to Metallica, Rage Against The Machine to Slayer, Aphex Twin to The Dresden Dolls and Dry Kill Logic to Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
HEBEPHRENIC'S sound has grown and evolved over the years, and the band has recently taken some time away from touring to concentrate on their newer material. The band's debut album was recorded in seven days and produced by John Webb. It featured the catchy, riff based metal the band was originally famed for on the local scene. The band's follow-up EP, 'Disillusion Through Compromise' was recorded in four days at The Lizard Lounge and sold in a limited run at local shows. It sold out quickly and showcased the band's maturing sound. Several student loans and part time jobs later, the band is now able to record in their own tiny studio. 'Die For Life' is the first song the band has produced by themselves.
