I was born in the sacred land of the North East in the Holy town of HARTLEPOOL.Life was fun, especially at a school called Dyke House Comprehensive School.As a young child all I had ever wanted to be was in the Army. I even joined the cadets (a bit like Justice Department only easier) which was great.Soon the big wide world outside of the North East beckoned and off to the Royal Engineers I went.I was first posted to Maidstone where I met my future wife. I was then supposed to go to Germany but using the gift of the gab got that changed to Chattenden, just up the road from Maidstone, Result!At Chattenden I was a member of Bomb Disposal and I was posted to the Commando Troop so off I went and did the course.The only down side of this was when I was in my final weeks of this course and I was recalled to my unit for Opperation Granby (the Gulf War). We never got deployed for another 4 weeks which annoyed me greatly. On my return I booked myself onto the next course and had to do the whole thing again but to get that Green beret made it all worth while.Whilst in the forces I travelled to a few places including The Falklands, Belize, Norway, Cyprus, QE2, Maureen Alpha & others.
