Tribal House project of Frank Sanders & Bernd Johnen who are also the heads behind lickin' records and the SUNLOVERZ project..
A short while after the establishment of the SUNLOVERZ project and the foundation of lickin records the two producers Frank Sanders and Bernd Johnen were busy with some progressive and percussive tribal house tracks. In order to draw a stylistic demarcation from the typical melodic vocal house sound of their SUNLOVERZ project they decided to establish a new project called DUB DELUXE. Although the first DUB DELUXE production (M.W. vs DUB DELUXE Wanna Know) was pressed on a small numbers of vinyls only for test purposes this track hit the clubscene like a bomb. The demand for this extremely rare bootleg continues until today without reduction the few copies which are in the circulation are still acted to top prices.In order to give this new lickin sound an own basis apart of the well known lickin sound they build up a new sublabel called LICKINTRIBE in autumn 2004. The first release on this new folder as the first official DUB DELUXE release (called True Housemusic / Witness) was a massive tribal house hit. More than 1500 copies were sold a considerable number for a newcomer label in the only very limited tribal house segment.No wonder that this untypical and not-german house sound attracted some attention in the international house scene. 'True Housemusic/Witness' was licensed just like its successor 'Drumbeating/Oriental Excess' by one the most renowned tribal house labels TRIBAL SPAIN (a folder of blancoYnegro / Spain). It was re-released with a new remix by the tribal house legend JESSE GARCIA.
Also in Germany the two producers and their new sound were noticed. They produced a very percussive house track with a big saxophone hook for the german Caballero (folder of Musicmail) label called Sex On Sax. The saxophone melody was played real by a saxophone player.Sex On Sax is still to find in the sets of numerous house DJs and is up-to-date also on the new MIX CD ' This is our Housesession ' mixed by the TUNE BROTHERS. The boys from Stuttgart were so inspired by the DUB DELUXE sound that they licensed the track even for their label HOUSESESSION RECORDS and re-released it in summer 2005 with a brandnew YVES LAROCK 'N' YANN Remix (HSR-009). Not enough: They assigned the DUB DELUXE team also for a remix of their single 'Serenata', which will be appear again in summer 2006 after a small test run in 2005.Even people in USA - the motherland of progressive and tribal house became attentive on the DUB DELUXE guys. PETER PRESTA one of the most well-known Tribal House producers knocked on the studio doors and assigned the duo for a remix of his single Dance (BAMBOO). 2006 saw the guys very busy with a bunch of remixes and 2 new DUB DELUXE singles ('It's Been Done' on Caballero Recordings and 'Rock Da Floor' on lickintribe). 'Rock Da Floor' reached absolutely clubhit status and is still played by all global player DJs (s.a. Roger Sanchez, Axwell, Erick Morillo).2007: New DUB DELUXE single 'Good Old Days' coming up next on Caballero Recordings as well as new remixes for Ken Adams, Patric La Funk and DAve Lambert........story will be continued....
