About Me

Allehcar is unquestionably one of the brightest young vocal talents to appear on the horizons since 1994. As a 1997 graduate of the esteemed Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, she has appeared in publications such as DownBeat magazine for her outstanding vocals and has received a coveted DownBeat award. She also sang alongside with classmate Norah Jones at the Arts Magnet high school in a very well known jazz ensemble called “The Lab Singers”. Regarding command and control of her vocal instrument, she is perhaps the best equipped vocalist of her generation. Her tone is effective, rich and full. Her range is sure and extensive and her work history supersedes her. Allehcar has the musical sensibility and a tentativeness, without which all these assets would mean little. She's done work with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Keite Young, Erykah Badu, and N'Dambi, just to name a few. She is currently writing and arranging her debut cd and she continues to be an energetic performer, constantly striving for higher heights, never missing her mark. ____________________________________________________________ _______________Get Your Own! | View Slideshow

Influences: Life and alot of people throughout it has been my influence to do Music for 27 years...yes 27 years. My mother and father started it out holding each of their children up to the hospital window right after we were born and praying to God to fill us with the gift of music (can't beat that). Next comes my brother Robert Searight who is an awesome songwriter/producer of the world, and sister Robin who is filled with talent galore! My family and friends shortly follow. I have also been influenced by so many great people that have gone b4 me paving the way for my creativity and talent type to shine thru. Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Billy Holiday, Betty Carter, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Chaka, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway, his daughter Lalah Hathaway, etc. (I will be adding to this list as they come to mind so dont worry) Many people in the Gospel Industry influenced me also. Kirk Franklin deffinately influenced me to write songs in so many ways, and how to do it the right way to make it to the top with gratitude, grace and mercy without greed or selfishness. Candy West and Myron Butler also influenced me over the past 15+ years to write songs with passion from the heart and soul of God. Im really blessed to have worked with soooooooooo many people in my lifetime, my lil ole life time. Kayla Parker (RIP) was one of the Musical Geniuses that I knew and Loved dearly. Working with her opened up a part of me that let me know it was ok to throw yourself in your music. She will be greatly missed. Everyday I wake up and see a another day God has blessed me to see, Im influenced.
