ï¶ Rachella Searight is unquestionably one of the brightest young vocal talents to appear on the horizons since 1994. As a 1997 graduate of the esteemed Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, she has appeared in publications such as DownBeat magazine for her outstanding vocals and has received a coveted DownBeat award. She also sang alongside with classmate Norah Jones at the Arts Magnet high school in a very well known jazz ensemble called “The Lab Singersâ€. Regarding command and control of her vocal instrument, she is perhaps the best equipped vocalist of her generation. Her tone is effective, rich and full. Her range is sure and extensive and her work history supersedes her. Rachella has the musical sensibility and a tentativeness, without which all these assets would mean little. She's done work with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Keite Young, Erykah Badu, and N'Dambi, just to name a few. She is currently writing and arranging her debut cd and she continues to be an energetic performer, constantly striving for higher heights, never missing her mark.
