The very name evokes a sensual yet mysterious atmosphere. These ladies hail from the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. The soulful sisters exude sexy, sultry and they sizzle, yet manage to possess modest and intellectual qualities.
These sisters are as cosmopolitan as the land of their birth. Having been blessed with great bone structures designed to fit in the modern day fashion industry, (Charli, with her dominant cheek bones and flawless glowing skin texture and Kelli whose face hints at their Asian ancestry) the ladies decided to showcase their vocal talents. Their gospel of M.U.S.I.C. (Making Universal Sounds integrate Completely) says it all .
2Ntrigue have garnered enormous respect for their vocal ability within the region and beyond. Their MUSIC a “pepperpotâ€â€¦sizzling, spicy with just enough Caribbean flava with a dose of R&B and Hip Hop undertones creating sweet ear candy.
Starting their journey with the best gospel youth choir at the time in Trinidad and Tobago, The Youth Pulse choir, these ladies ventured out as the sister act becoming 2Ntrigue. Their stage presence, creativity and style were recognised by various promoters and the duo was sought after as opening acts for several international artistes gracing the stage such as Usher, Damien ‘Jr Gong’ Marley, Beres Hammond, Jagged Edge, Joe and 112. They were also on tour with Atlantic’s recording soca star “Rupee’ and from their very own backyard they came highly recommended to Bunji Garlin and Destra Garcia (Trinidad’s Soca royalties) .
In 2005 they rejuvenated the ‘80s classic dance hit “Finally†with a soca twist and featured the original vocalist CeCe Penniston.
For 2006 Carnival these young ladies collaborated with R&B recording artiste Ginuwine and Bunji Garlin on the song “Secretsâ€, which they all performed at Glow 2006 in Trinidad.
Their upcoming album “Eclectic Soul†takes you on a musical holiday, a joyful journey, more easily experienced than explained.
"To us, music means making universal sounds integrate completely,†articulated a very confident Charli. “We believe in what we are do for us it is more about love and sharing".
The album which is soon to be released not only mirrors this vision but also showcases the girls’ versatility in every aspect, they have collaborated with several regional and international producers – Trinidad, Jamaica, USA and Canada. They have also incorporated an inspirational song called "Blind Faith", and "Eventually" is a tribute to their gospel background.
Performing together, the sisters admit, has its "ups and downs" but they are secure in knowing that they have each other to rely on, and unwavering family support. “Friends and Fans Love yuh everytime!â€
