Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession
The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.
Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

First and foremost, my cousin Josh (who you can find in my top 8)...he has never given up, no matter how hard it gets...and he always seems to know how to bring a smile to anyone's face, not to mention he's a fantastic father. I love him more than he knows. Second, my little brother Jeffrey...for sticking by my side through thick and thin...for being able to deal w/ our parents shit and still being able to hold his head high...3rd, my Grandpa Bill *RIP*...he took on a crazy woman and her 6 kids (those six kids later produced 23 grandkids for him) and taught all of us how to be better people...he had an amazing judge of character and could smell a phony from across the fucking street...Last and certainly not least, Calvin "Pops" Pease *RIP*...he never had any of his own kids, but took on about 6 of us who all worked at the Chev...he always knew how to make anyone happy...he loved to teach us stuff, which is amazing when you're always willing to learn new shit...We all love and miss him..."gone but not forgotten"...
