With her latest sessions, Stacy Burke has captured that uncategorizable thing that makes you hit repeat and listen to a song all over again. Stacy's a young singer/songwriter that comes from Salt Spring Island on Canada's west coast, but moved to Toronto last year to explore music. She's had instant recognition from the first time she performed because she has one of those voices that is a gift from the heavens. In the last year she's developed as an artist and a poet as well, as can be heard on her newest songs. Anyone who's ever moved to a new place and noticed the tiny everyday details that only a fresh eye can see will identify with "Longway Home." It evokes that moment in time when you're alone and completely aware of all the beauty around you. And then there's the contrast of spritely sounds chiming along behind the desolate lyrics of "Over Now." Its sparse and beautiful. Stacy has recorded with some pretty big names in the music business including Randy Bachman who she co-wrote and recorded with and Tom Hooper (Grapes of Wrath, Ginger) who produced her first demo sessions. So she's learned some technique from pros. Now she's writing, playing every chance she gets and working on finding that place where waitressing ends and music takes over, living it out where old streets are new. Look for Stacy live in 2007, at NMW (in Vancouver), NXNE (in Toronto) & eclectic venues across Canada.
