DJ REN-D (Maelstrom Recordings / Time Tools)DJ REN-D started his career back in 1991 on the beautiful party island of Malta playing in one of the few clubs called Leaders. After a few months he began playing at open air parties called REUNION which were the first free parties at the exotic locations all over the island attracting the cool party people to dance the night away to the sounds of underground dance musicas the scene in Malta grew REN-D's talent as a DJ shone through. His style of music from deep Chicago/Disco influenced house to harder edged techy sounds combined with his excellent mixing techniques did not go unnoticed by the local clubbers & promoters. After a long period of Acid & Hard House in 1996 REN-D decided to go back to his roots, the funky groovy sound. .He hooked up with the MINISTRY OF SOUND party FRISKY which was one of the leading club nights in the world at the time, attracting thousands of clubbers from all over Europe. In the same years REN-D launched his dance music show on the top local radio station LIVE FM & attracted a very huge audience that tuned in every weekend. By this time REN-D had managed to gain many residencies & regular guest DJ slots around Malta & Gozo (Malta's beautiful sister island) at venues such as ."Qoni's Lido Beach", "Leaders Disco" , "The Blackrose", "Axis", "Generator Club", "Wilderness", "Places", "Godiva", "La Grotta", "Natasha's", "Barcode" the legendary Pushka", "Brassmonkey", "Tattingers", "Barfunk", "NV", "Amazonia" & several other venues.over the years DJ REN-D has performed in various events & Club Nights & spun alongside the world's most renowned DJs & Live Acts including the following:-.Sasha, Jeff Mills, Carl Cox, Timo Maas, Lenny Fontana, Todd Terry, DJ Sneak, James Zabiela, Sven Vath, Ian Pooley, DJ Moose, DJ Villneuve, Chocolate Puma, Trevor Rockliffe, Colin Dale, Faithless, Gayle San, Who Da Funk, Eric Morillo, Harry 'Choo Choo' Romero, Scan-X, C.J. Ren-D releases under different project names including: DJ REN-D , XAVIER , 2 FUNKY!, THE AUTOMATES & DEEP CITY. Ren-D moved to Germany to promote his music further. He produced his sound at one of the world's most respected recording studios T IME TOOLS, home of DJs & producers including Timo Maas (Perfecto), Ian Wilkie (Hope Recordings), & Andy Bolleshon & Martin Butrich.From there Ren-D's Career took off on an international scale as his Production & DJ skills shone & he proved that he had what it takes to build a bright & solid future in dance music. Playing all around Germany in the best clubs, he is also regularly booked in several countries including the U.K, Spain, United States, Poland, Italy, Belgium, Holland & Russia.His latest productions VOODOO SENSATION - (MAELSTROM REC. UK) & ENVY ME - (Q-RECORDS. SWEDEN) have been featured in the sets of many influential DJ's such as:- Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, Pete Tong, Timo Maas, Fergie, Saeed & Palash, Yousef & Hernan Cattaneo. Ren-Ds tunes have featured on BBC RADIO 1 on Pete Tongs ESSENTIAL MIX & Fergie's FRIDAY DANCE. Also being the first ever maltese dance DJ/PRODUCER soloist to hit many charts around the globe.
