About Me

Myspace Layouts by Pimp-My-Profile.com

Embalmed was formed around 1991 by vocalist Grimfrost. He recruited guitarist Geburah and drummer Amaethon. Several bassists came and went due to incompatibility problems with the other members of the band, or sheer inability to play! Embalmed had to rely on session bassists for live shows. The band started out playing Death Metal but changed their style to Black Metal around 1993 as had several of the more well known Norwegian bands. Known as Mystical Dark Metal, the band continued to refine their style and worked on more darker songs.Embalmed played several local shows over the next couple of years and continued to rehearse new songs for their upcoming recording. In November 1994 the band entered the studio to record "Raging Torrents of Endless Darkness" This was a grim slice of Black Metal which went down well with all who heard it. The demo was sent to several record companies but unfortunately without success. The band played in London at The Devils Church early in 1995, but this turned out to be their last gig. Their rehearsal place refused to let them play any more and no other suitable place could be found.Geburah and Amaethon went on to play in other bands in a totally different style while I, Grimfrost kept looking for other musicians to continue what I had started. The search took several years, but in 2003 I met drummer Trollvar and guitarist Syreoth, together with my wife, Countess we formed VARGNATHORN! Check the Vargnathorn page for details on what is currently happening with this band.Grimfrost July 2006

I am considering re-packaging and re-issuing the Embalmed CD in a limited release, with new re-mastered versions of the songs. At least one song might possibly be re-worked for Vargnathorn too. S...
