Kevie Collins grew up just outside of Detroit, Mi. At a young age she took a fond interest in music, singing & guitar. After winning several talent shows and fresh out of high school she moved to Nashville to pursue her dream of being a Country Music Artist. Over the years she has written over 1,000 songs perfecting her Art. Her Music is Not your Mom & Dad’s Country Music nor is it the bubble gum pop country that is so popular today. Although Her influences and style are rooted in tradional country; Kevie Collins brings something new to the table. Some say She is ahead of her time while others say she was meant for the 60’s where being different was embraced and not frowned upon by the powers that be. It was a time when it was about the music and expression.
The 70’s would have understood her Soulful Songwriting from the heart. Songs such as "The Moon Is Lying Down" stirs the soul and makes you think what it is all about. But if you do think about it; it all makes sense. All who listen including those not fans of country music are drawn to her catchy songs.
Her voice can soothe you and melt even the coldest of hearts. Her unique melodies and lyrics create an eruption of emotion within. You just can’t get her songs out of your head!
Tony Arata Says (The writer of "The Dance" by Garth Brooks) "The songs are lyrically as well stylistically speaking, very honest and heartfelt. I hear snapshots of folks I have long admired like Gillian Welch and Patty Loveless." "The Role" sounds like a Patty (Loveless) song to me and I would encourage you to pitch that to her. I have no doubt that I will be seeing your name more and more.
Kevie is an accomplished solo writer but has also enjoyed collaborating with notables like Cory Mayo (George Strait) and Cory Batten (Rhonda Vincent, Julie Roberts). Among others.
"Emotion is the most important thing to me in music. It’s my job to make sure people feel what I write and sing about" Says Kevie.
Well on the way to leaving her mark on the music world, Kevie already has had radio rotation in Louisiana and Sweden. Jonas Ohman, of Kountry Korral Magazine has written glowing articles on this artist who is nothing short of the real deal.
On a recording session with pianist Barry Walsh, Barry exclaims about Kevie," her stuff sounds great ... both Gretchen (Peters) and I loved the way it turned out."
Kevie is now assembling a team of industry supporters to join her as she has dedicated herself to touch many lives with her songs and voice. There is no doubt, Kevie’s performances and compositions have a lasting impact on all who hear her music.
