About Me

Grynd Musik IncDr.Grynd M.D. - Dr.Grynd M.D was born Dorian Edward Moore (born April,08,1981 in St. Louis, Missouri) is on the trailblazing path to becoming one of the music impresarios of our generation. Raised as a youth on the unforgiving streets of North St. Louis Dorian, known to his friends and colleagues as Doe, fiddled around on his first instrument, the piano, at the ripe age of 5. By middle school he had mastered virtually every instrument before settling on the piano his first love. Growing up as a teenager in the R&B and Hip Hop movement he fell in love with the melodies, rifts and composition of the music and soon followed a path of being a rap artist. In St. Louis up and coming artist were thriving but production for these, artist including Doe, was scare and of limited availability. Equipped with this information and new obstacle set before him, he taught himself the art of music production and by high school he was teaching his own class on music production.Doe's passion for music grew stronger and after high school he began a career as a local producer filling the ever growing market for tracks in the Mid-Western region. Shortly after he met Luther Claxton and producer Ahmed Oliver to form the production team Mo Beats. They all had a local success but they knew if they wanted to go to the next level they would have to strategize a new plan so Doe, Oliver and Claxton took a big risk leaving all the knew and had in St. Louis and moved to New Jersey in 2001. Even though they were in a city minutes from New York and they worked diligently to shop production to major labels their break would still come from the town in which they came from.At the time, Claxtons cousin Courtney Benson was managing a then up and coming artist now known as Nelly. At the Nellyville release party in St. Louis, Claxton was in position to personally hand Murphy Lee a fresh disc of Mo Beatz music. Murphy Lee heard the beats and liked them enough to pass them on to Nelly. Shortly after, Mo Beats was introduced to the rest of the St. Lunatics, and signed to produce for the Derrty label. Their first major project with Derrty Entertainment,One Of Those Days which was a remix with Whitney Houston featuring Nelly. From there, they went on to do production work on the popular EA sports game NBA Street: Volume 2. After blazing tracks for those projects, Mo Beats was recruited to do beats for Nellys double album, Sweat and Suit. The first single off of Nellys Suit album, My Place featuring Jaheim, rocketed to the top of the pop charts in late 2004 and stayed there for an astonishing 22 weeks. The second hit single Tilt Ya Head Back, featuring Christina Aguilera and Paradise on the Sweat Album and River Dont Runnn on Suit Album and also are the other songs that helped catapult Nellys double album release to number 1 and number 2 on the Billboard Top Album Charts, a first in Billboard history. Even though the success of Mo Beats seemed to be unstoppable the group severed business ties in late 2005 Thats the moment Doe decided to change his name to Dr.Grynd M.D.Grynd continued his production despite the abrupt breakup of the Mo Beats camp and has gained recognition for his accomplishments as a production partnerwith Mo Beats. In August of 2005, he was awarded the coveted BMI Urban & Pop Award for his production and publishing rights on Nellys hit My Place. He is also working with Reggae sensation China Black on his new album as well as a compilation of his own to name a few.In the near future Dr. Grynd plans to work with other music and movie executives, producers as well as artists on projects covering the whole gamete of music production and composition transcending all music genres. He also wants to be a portal for new musical talent and producers who want be a powerful and prominent force in the music industry. Get ready to expect big things out of Dr.Grynd M.D because he's undisputedly one of the best producers to ever come out of the midwest Dr. Grynd, M.D
