Larceny was born Shameek Butler on October 4, 1985. As the son of one of the most notoriously known drug dealers in Far rockaway,Queens. Larceny was raised in Carlton Manor houses, He always had the ambition to put his goals into action. He began to rap at the tender age of six, spitting about his ABC’s and nursery rhymes. With inspirations from artist such as Jay-Z,Rakim and Big Daddy Kane, Larceny is far beyond writing about trivial topics. Now Larceny has developed into a notable artist that soothes his struggle of growing up in the rough streets of Far rock through his lyrical wrath. He explains that one of his biggest adversities he was faced with was when his father was sentenced to life in 2005 for a conspricay charge. “Not only was this very hard for me but it was also hard for my family. I had to remain strong for everyone even though I had just taken one of the biggest losses that I might ever face in my life” He stated. From selling drugs to pay for studio time to filling the shoes of his absent father, Larceny has become one of the most overlooked and highly anticipated underground artists. Coming out of the shadows of Stack Bundles and Un Pacino, He is adamant about being another exceptionally talented artist to put Far rock on the lyrical radar. Larceny is the total package the rap world is missing. His lyrical flow and ambition is a deadly combination that should keep artist on their feet because Larceny is destined to “Get this money”.
