Sahara was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 7th, 1986 to musically inclined parents David & Barbara. Shortly after, they moved to Los Angeles, California where they resided for 14 years. Teasingly, her Father often reminds her she was born on the day "all hell broke loose," (Pearl Harbor-Dec. 7, 1941.)
She was the baby in the family, growing up with two older siblings, Steven and Tamara. Tammy & Sahara's favorite child-hood activities were singing and dancing. Sahara's fondest memories were spent watching her Mother Barbara sing and perform for friends, family and local venues. Looking up to her Mother at the early age of 6 she decided she wanted to be exactly like her, mimicking her performances, memorizing all the songs and singing along to her shows. At the age of 14 her family decided to uproot and move to Arizona where she attended a local high school.
Aside from various talent shows and years of dance training, Sahara didn't start professionally pursuing a career in music until the age of 15, which was around the time she graduated from high school with full credits in order to strictly pursue her passion for singing. She formed a band with dedicated musicians who traveled up to 3 hours to join her. They did small performances around town but eventually went their separate ways, to pursue different passions and to attend college. While all her friends were going to college she had made a pact with her Father that if she didn't make progress by the time she was 18 she would put her music career on hold and attend the local University. On the exact day of her 18th Birthday Sahara was signed by Groove Nation Records and moved to Hollywood California to begin the "writing" process for her debut album and extensive vocal training.
After 6 months of living and working in Hollywood Sahara fell into a slump and felt that Groove Nation wasn't properly representing her which led to the termination of the contract the following year. Undaunted by the experience she moved back to Arizona to prepare for college. Prior to signing up she decided to give singing one last shot where she audition for the musical opportunity of working with a France-famed Film & Music composer Dan Foster. Her version of Celine Dion's "Miles to go" won her first prize and set her on the beautiful songwriting journey. Together they collaborated for 1 1/2 years writing up to 30 songs. Although Sahara & Dan have gone their separate ways she describes working with Dan as a match made in heaven, due to his unwavering support, and generously nurturing her dreams not only as her music mentor, but also as her very good friend.
June 30, 2006 Sahara now a signed artist officially preparing for her debut album along with her Manager Danny D. She is now represented by: http://www.capitolmanagement.com and
