DJ Hoya has been emersed in music since age 5. At the young age of 14 he informally started DJing house parties, and at 17 landed his first professional club residency in the NW. He went to on to DJ many public and private events in the next two years, including two weekly events in Portland nightclubs. This would be DJ Hoya's last summer in Portland, but before leaving he had one more thing to accomplish... winning 1st place out of 16 Portland area DJ's in a mixtape contest put on by Portland's hiphop radio station, Jammin' 95.5.
Then, in the fall of 07', DJ Hoya relocated to the University of Oregon... in the next 5 months he would become a party sensation, drawing crowds upwards of 500 to house parties, and over 1000 people to one-off events. When not DJing clubs or other large events, DJ Hoya can be found DJing weekly at house parties and other private functions in Portland and Eugene.
It was during his first few years as a DJ, that DJ Hoya was able to define his unique sound as an artist. DJ Hoya is all about energy, and maintaining the energy level of an event at maximum from start to finish. He achieves this by spinning a mix of the absolute hottest mainstream hiphop, heavily infused with the hard, club rocking beats of the freshest bay-area hyphy tracks, as well as the bouncy rhythms and synth-heavy sounds of dirty south crunk. The result is a high intensity infusion of club classics and some of freshest sounds to pound the dance floor today.
