That sharp lead sound comes from Dan England, lead guitar. Dan began playing guitar in 1957, when his mother made a present of his first Gibson flat top guitar. Since that time, Dan has performed with many of the Midwest's most popular groups. Dans most recent work with the Centerfield Band included a partnership with another well known recording artist and writer Glenn Miranda, whose performance with the Strawberry Alarm Clock produced the .. 1 chart song Incense and Peppermint in the late sixties.
Dan has continued to play throughout the Michigan and Indiana and the midwest area for the past 10 years as music evolved into the sophisticated majestic ballads and explosive rock of todays country sounds. This extensive background has now added an important quality to the sounds of Ernie Givens and the White Lies Band. Dan joined as the most recent addition to the group at the end of 2004.
You wont be able to miss this distinctive character as Dans lead guitar provides a signature country sound to each of todays songs from your top 40 favorites to the original music of Ernie Givens and the White Lies Band.
Wes began learning music and playing in bands from the age of 14. In the late 1960s Wes played throughout the Chicagoland area with a number of groups (The Rivera's, The Bare Facts, The Riddlers, The Noblemen, and more). With some of these groups Wes had some important experience performing with some of the greats in popular music like James Brown, Eric Clapton, Tommy James, The Buckinghams, The Turtles and more. In 1968 Wess band, The Bare Facts, recorded two hit singles at Universal Recording Studio's in Chicago.
Although his musical tastes and experience is quite varied, Wes has always identified with the bass guitar as the basis for and the driving force behind the sound of todays country music. Wes joined Ernie Givens and the White Lies Band as the band was preparing to go on the road.
Outside of the band, Wes is a businessman in the northern Indiana area. He has worked in materials management and manufacturing operations, owns his own business and is active in local government, the school board and community events. He also enjoys riding his horses on his ranch in northwest Indiana.
Wes is quite the comedian and helps keep everyone upbeat on stage and off. He sings backup and harmony across the complete repertoire of our music. His many years of varied experience is typical of the other members of the White Lies Band and helps create the quality country music enjoyed by all.
