About Me

Hi Guys, the name's Chris and I am a bassist from Atlanta... for about 7 years now. I work with a lot of different folks but most notably and most recently I've joined up with Ben Deignan, with whom I am currently gearing up for our album release and tour. The bass has always been my one true connection with life and I feel extremely blessed to have found such success through it. I do teach the occasional lesson when I'm home in Atlanta and am available for electric, fretless, as well as the upright bass.
I've had countless amazing teachers and mentors, and have had the privilege to share the stage with some great names over the span of my short career. Some of the more recent groups I've had the pleasure of hanging with include Charlie Daniels, Sister Hazel, Terry Clark, Zac Brown, Hot Apple Pie, 3 Doors Down, the Toadies, Blues Traveler, and Cowboy Mouth. I've studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston as well as earned a degree from Atlanta Institute of Music in 2001, and have done 2 National tours and several studio recording sessions since. I live and make my home in Atlanta with my "way-outta-my-league" wife Nicole, but I seem to travel constantly.
I play with some of the finest players in the south, including my "life partner" Michael Renna , the worlds greatest pianist/vocalist/lady killer. I recently became the newest member of Ben Deignan's band, Atlanta's most watched rising celebrity and fantastic singer/songwriter.
Here is a recent fan video of us doing Billie Jean b Michael Jackson at Montgomery's Jubilee, we were just one of many amazing acts that evening including our good friend Paul Thorn, Huey Lewis, Clint Black, Angie Stone, Morris Day, Taylor Swift, and the Legendary Miss Erykah Badu!
Along with the original project, Ben and I also play in the B-SIDE Project with amazing guitarist and songwriter Josh Graff and the craziest drummer in Middle GA, Vince Greco! Other groups I moonlight with include Francisco Vidal, Brandon Perry, Dwight Raby, Pete Whitfield, as well as many, many others. I also head up the A&R division of TMG Records, part of the Thornwood Media Group. We are a relatively new independent label seeking out talent on a daily basis. If your wanting to have us look at your band please send me a press kit, website, or demo as soon as possible! On top of it all I help run a full sound and lighting production company (FishTank Productions), hosting many live music events throughout the year, from small intimate weddings to full on outdoor festivals.
When it comes down to it at the end of the day I am a Bass Player, it defines who I am and I am proud of my role within the music. I use only the best gear including Ashdown Amplifiers and Cabinets, Schroeder Cabinets, Thunderfunk Amps, Ken Smith Strings, and a plethora of basses encompassing many styles and sounds, from vintage Fender to Custombuilt exotics. Please fell free to contact me here or at [email protected] for any inquiries you might have. For any booking inquiries regarding Ben Deignan please contact Bowe O'Brien at [email protected].
