My Interests

Stopping the forces of evil that are intent on destroying the universe.

Music:

Dujeous? - Immortal Technique - Ghetto Revival - Tabletop Sound - Vertigo Venus - The 2bers - T.I.

Movies:

I've been getting my gas at the Circle K, out of respect for Bill and Ted. I watched some foreign Spanish film with a Jared Leto lookalike.

Television:

I'm catching up on season 7 of Deep Space Nine. I watched it all those years and then somehow wasn't paying attention at the end, so now I am feeling much more knowledgeable as a trekkie. You have to know your stuff in that community. I borrowed season one of Dexter from a coworker, I knew it was going to be good and it is. Sweet satisfaction.

Books:

The Luxe - Incognegro - Rich Dad Poor Dad Real Estate - Love, Stargirl - Rodzina - The Dot and the Line - If You Come Softly - The Invention of Hugo Cabret - The Penalty - The House of the Scorpion - Gangs of New York -

Heroes:

Pippi Longstocking, Wednesday Adams, Hermione Granger, Penny (from Inspector Gadget), Nancy Drew, Claudia Kishi, Elizabeth Wakefield, Sally J. Freedman

The Chocolate War

I let this one go for too long. Ignoring it for years because it was constantly on school reading lists, I finally gave it a chance because it is on the ALA Banned Book list as well. Boy was it good...

The Trap

I always like the ones with alternating voices. This one goes back and forth between the grandfather and grandson. Grandpa, out trapping, catches a leg in his own device. Grandson hovers between tr...

Fat Kid Rules the World

This audio book was hilarious, LOL, na'mean? Matthew Lillard (Scream/Scooby Doo) reads it and does a great Kurt Cobaine. No, the story didn't have Kurt in it, but the author obviously was paying hom...

Planet Hulk

I can't help it. I have to report on this one even though I haven't finished it. Clark tells me I only have a few pages until the end, so I feel I've read enough to speak. It reminded me of Gladiat...

The Way

You go Joseph Bruchac! I haven't turned a page that fast in forever. I realized I was turning fast when I heard the crisp snap of the page as I flipped it.

Twisted

Finally, I read it!  This is a good guy book, though you wouldn't be able to judge that from the cover.  I like the main character, he has everything angsty going for him - misunderstood, on...

Fallen Son - The Death of Captain America

I thought I was going to be reading about his death, but turns out this one is right after.  Everyone is mourning; Spidey is taking it especially hard.  They offer the Captain America costum...

The Secret Life of Bees

Write what you know - well, someone knew a lot about keeping bees. Those parts weren't boring, but if you skim them you'll be fine. My FAVORITE moment - "I started wearing my day-of-the-week panties...
