About Me

I've been raised in a family where arts and music were evident elements in life. Loving and adoring singing, I discovered the fascinating operaworld around 18 years, and worked very hard and patiently to develop my instrument. After 20 years of study,I can say that I feel now a free musician with my voice.I studied in Rome at the Santa Cecilia conservatorio, came back to Belgium, combined furher studies with working in the farmacy my father left us when he passed away at 53 years.I had the opportunity to develop my knowledge with artists like Renata Scotto, Reri Grist,Grace Bumbry, Anna Reynolds etc...At a certain point in my life, I wanted to quit, because it's a very irregular life as a soloist.Also had a lot of questions about the ability of achieving what I had in mind. If you're critical towards yourself it's very difficult to be satisfied. You are your own teacher and judge and it's hard to cope with the standards you're setting for yourself.Nevertheless did a last audition at The Netherlands Opera in Amsterdam, and got instantly a contract for the choir. Since working there, the spectrum has enlarged, working with faboulus conductors as Maris Jansson, riccardo Chailly, Carlo Rizzi, Edo de Waard e.o Singers like Villazon,Terfell,Urmana,Spagnoli, e.o It's a fascinating world.But I do need the musicians of today to complete my world, and therefore my interest in what is happening now. My aim is to compose and bring my own music, to work with other writers and performers. Influences: Nevertheless working in the "classical/opera"world I've always been open to all kinds of musical influences. The aquarius in me is curious to new sounds& worlds created by today's musicians..
