About Me

“Strong songs with a distinct and unique flavour”
(Ben Campbell - Atlas www.myspace.com/atlastheband)
"I was lucky enough to hear Kib's single Kiss. We spot played it on our Breeze radio station in Christchurch. She fits like a glove in our female format... A gifted singer in the genre of Carrie Underwood, Martina Mcbride and Carly Binding, but with her OWN unique sound. I wish her every success."
(Hilary Muir - The Breeze, Christchurch 94.5FM)There is something about Kib Simpson, something that grabs and holds attention and is not easily forgotten.
The immediately obvious reason is that she stands almost 6 ft tall with a mane of wild curls framing a passionate face, but it is when she starts to sing that audiences truly sit up and take notice.
Her songs have magnetic, powerful lyrical composition, her sound seems at once familiar but very individual, and her performances are so honest and real they hardly seem performances at all.
From the soaring infectiousness of ‘Kiss’ and the anthemic ‘Aim To Please’, to the swaying edgy ‘Ordinary Love’, Simpson's songs possess a strong commercial friendly edge and are itching to be played on network radio.
Kib is rapidly claiming her place in the long Kiwi tradition of great female singer-songwriters welling up from the ground-springs in this part of the South Pacific. She engages the eyes, the ears and the emotions... and that is the “something” about Kib Simpson.
