Stag and Does Stag and Doe's should be planned out thoroughly so that everyone attending has a great time. Pretty easy concept, right?NOTE: It takes about two months to plan a stag and doe. This includes time for ticket sales.Write down all your anticipated costs i.e hall rental,(check to see if hall insurance is required) food, paper plates, plastic cutlery, napkins, cups, snack foods, ticket printing, decorations, equipment rental for fund-raising games, Disc Jockey, etc.Don't plan on making a killing from your guests. Plan on making sure your guests are entertained and having a good time and the rest will come easy.Appoint a committee or delegate responsibilities. Someone to handle ticket printing, others to handle food (not with their hands) ordering and set-up as well as decorations.Plan on serving a decent spread of food. Potato chips, cheesies and pop just won't cut it on their own.Suggestions: Lasagna, pizza (order it hot and fresh just before serving the food)..order three types in your mix. One that's neutral just with cheese (for the almost vegetarians), one with meat for the meat lovers and one with toppings that the bride and groom prefer. Beef on a bun is a big hit. Cracker and cheese tray. That is a variety of cracker and cheese types. How about ordering a chinese food buffet? The possibilites are endless. Just don't appear chintzy. When hiring a disc jockey here a couple of things to consider, Look at the possibility of hiring the DJ for the wedding as well. Ask if there is a combo discount if booking the stag and doe and the wedding with the D.J. Hire a D.J. that has the ability to make announcements for you throughout the night, and maybe even has the ability to invite people up for requests. A good D.J. can even get people to participate in the fund-raising games.Keep in mind that in many cases people who attend stag and does may not be there to dance, that's not to say they won't. However, if the venue is small and congested and there is a lot of chit chat, with games and activities going on, there is a much stronger chance that less dancing will be taking place. However a good selection of background music to please the guests creates an exciting ambience. Music from 9pm to 1am. Any earlier and your wasting your money. The majority of guests tend to show up between 9 and 9:30pm anyway.Make sure the hall that you have booked has a good variety of drinks in stock. In most cases the hall takes the bar. If you control the bar there are more risks and possible headaches involved.Plan the evening with a good selection of fund-raising games. Have your good looking friends sell draw tickets to your guests. Make sure they charm, smile and hustle for best results.Appoint a number of people to sell the stag and doe addmission tickets. Suggested price range of tickets... $7 to $10 per person or $12 to $15 per couple (higher or lower depending on how wealthy your friends are). The average guest should plan to drop at least $15 to $20 on games of chance or skill. Keep in mind many people may just purchase a ticket to support the cause and may not show up. However the people that do show up will want to be entertained.Theoretically your stag and doe addmission ticket sales should cover the cost of your hall rental, D.J. and food. The rest as they say, is gravy.Make sure your friends and family who sell your stag and doe tickets sell them as a main event, pumping it up with excitment..Make sure you thank your guests for coming out that night. Thank individually everyone that helped make the night a success (your hoping that it was) and remind everyone not to drink and drive, order a taxi or you will help them make arrangements to get a ride home. More Great "Stag & Doe" Ideas from Function JunctionHere are a few more ideas of activities that can make you extra dough at your Stag and Doe! These are terrific fund-raising ideas to assist you in resulting in a successful stag and doe party.Traditional Games and DrawsSelling tickets for door prizes or special prizes50/50 DrawCrazy Jokers: 52 Cards shuffled. Tape each card on bristol board face down. Guests purchase cards for $2 or $3 each. Write guests name with magic marker on back of card. When all cards are purchased you then turn each one over. The individuals possessing the Jokers win $20 each.Toonie or Loonie Toss: A. There is a special prize of your choice placed on the floor inside a bucket. The choice of prize should be of decent value or need for other guests as well. There are 3 or 4 rounds. Tape mark 7 feet away from prize. Everyone tosses as many loonies as they'd like until they get their toss in the bucket. Everyone who gets it in the bucket gets to go to the next round. The toss line is moved back to 10 feet. The procedure goes as the individuals who get the loonie in the bucket move to the next round. The toss line moves back 3 feet each time until you have one winner. You should end up with a decent amount in your bucket at the end of it all. Important: make sure you plan this game a little later in the evening.. when the tossers judgement is not as fucused. B.Who can get their coin closet to the prize wins the prize. Don't worry if someone gets real close on the first toss just try to knock it out. (Kinda like curling) There are lots of opportunities to knock the closest coin out of the way for a new winner. This keeps the game going. Make sure your d.j. lets everyone know how this games played.He/She Shoot's..He/She Scores! For the hockey crowd: Set up a goalie's net with targets. It's 2 shots for a toonie. 20-25 feet back. If you hit down one target you get a loonie. Two targets, 5 bucks. . If you know you have a bunch of sharp shooters keep moving back your shot line until it becomes more challenging. The Pie In The Face Auction: The honourees of the evening have the opportunity to receive "Pie In The Face"....for the right price of course! 1st method: Individdual Bids on each. Highest bidder that night gets to mush pie in the face of the groom and bride to be. 2nd method: (More of a money maker$$$) Whip Cream in tin foil pie dish. $5 bucks for a mush in the face per person. The Canadian Tire Money Guessing Game:You must first accumulate a whole whack of Canadian Tire oney...ask family and friend to chip in. Once you count up the total amount then you can prepare for this game. You make up a page with two columns. Column 1 has the person's name, column two has a suggested dollar amount for the contestant to wager their guess. You can charge $1 per guess or 7 for $5. At the end of the night the person who has written down their name beside the actual correct amount (or closest to)wins the Canadian Tire loot. Make sure the amount to be one is worth it. (no less than $50)The fly fishing game: What you need: One bucket. One fishing rod and lour without hook. Tape a line for contestants to cast their line. Whoever gets the lour in the bucket wins a ballot to win a very favourable prize, which you should determine in advance. $2 per cast or 3 for $5.The $100 giveaway: First your need a crisp $100 dollar bill. Display the bill in a plastic sheet on the table where you are selling the guesses. You must conceal the serial number of the bill by placing a strip of bristol board at the bottom to cover it up. You will have a an approx. 34 X 12 inch bristol board on the table with approx. 100 squares. In those squares are mock serial numbers of the $100 bill. Only one square has the real number. Each person who pays for a guess writes their name in the square. Price the guessing opportunities accordingly. How Many for $$: Guess how many jelly beans in the jar and win the jelly beans and half the purse. 50 cents a guess.Gold Fish Racing: This is lots of fun!. You think your fish is just about to cross the finish line and then without warning the fish may just turn around and go back to the beginning. This creates lots of cheering for a great fun atmophere in the room. This game is being used more and more in the past few years.Horse and Auto Racing: This is a favourite with everyone, will your horse and car move one, two or three blocks ahead to win the prize, one half of the money goes to the bride and groom and the other half goes to the winner.
