About Me
Boris, born and raised in Riga, Latvia (formal Russia), has always been passionate about music. At the age of eight he was putting together mixed tapes before he knew what a mixed tape was. Influenced at a very young age, he got his first taste of electronic music in 1990 in Vienna, Austria and Rome, Italy. Exploring the explosive early 90s club scene in Europe had a significant impact on him. Shortly after, Boris moved to Denver, Colorado and immersed himself in the thriving underground rave scene. Infatuated by what a good DJ can do, the aspiration to spin set in.
In 1997 Boris made the decision to move to San Francisco, California. Spending time at Club 1015 in San Francisco gave Boris the opportunity to observe some of the greatest internationally acclaimed DJs in the flesh. At the time, Spudae Productions was arranging events at Club 1015, bringing in DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Nick Warren and many more. Becoming a regular at the club, at some point Boris met several people that were just as passionate about electronic music as he was. Thrilled, he gave them a demo of his first major set: THE NEXT DAY. Little did he know he had had a chance encounter with Guiv Naimi, one of the owners of Spundae Productions and Kelly Edwards, the promoter. Guiv loved the unique progressive sound of his demo and offered Boris to play for Spundae. His first gig was at the Levis Store, on Market Square. There, Boris was putting together four to six hour sets almost every week and getting rave reviews. About three months later Guiv presented Boris with the opportunity to open for Gianni at Club 1015. Those two hours were a life altering experience for Boris. Boriss ability to work the crowd was astounding, at last he was living his dream. Boris became a resident DJ for Spundae. Playing for Spundae furthered his deejay career. Boris began receiving gigs from everywhere in the Bay Area. He met and befriended many top DJs and promoters.
In the summer of 2000, Boris made the move back to Colorado. Since then Boris has played at multiple Denver clubs and events such as: Alley Cat, Buddha Lounge, Snake Pitt, Savillia, Sugar Lounge, B-52 and many more. Boris has also helped organize events and play for Wackyshack, FifthDimenitional Studios, Danger Crew Productions and Madskills & HMmm Productions.
Since 1997 Boris has recorded ten major albums. His last three PULSE, THE FULL MOON & REVERSAL, are simply beyond compare. PULSE takes you on a journey in to a happy land of progressive up beat. The sophisticated multi-layered beats evolve with flawless precision and synchronization. THE FULL MOON, is incredible. It is the unmistakable sound of sharp progressive beats that only Boris can create. The sound is intense and the mixing is a pure culmination of harmony and progression.
