At the time I was playing keyboards for a solo artist by the name of Trae here in LA. it was sort of an industrial/funk band and we did a little touring and recorded a record. During this time i was getting increasingly more interested in writing and producing dance music and spent much of my time developing my programming skills and building up my home studio. I initially worked with a few singers and writers while finding my niche.Meanwhile, I was asked if i would be interested in doing some keyboards for a demo for my good friend, Ms. Erin Hamilton. She wanted to cover the Gary wright classic "Dream Weaver" but they wanted to remake it with an alternative vibe. I had a different idea in that it might work well as a club track so we recorded Erins voacls and i produced the track. After testing the mix out in a club, The track was picked up by Brett Henrichsen and his indi label "trax recording" here in LA and Erin and i went on to record an entire record for the label entitled "One World" which was released in October of 1999. Other songs from the CD which became singles were "The Flame", "Satisfied" and "The Temple". during the recording of the record i took on the alias "SOLAR CITY" and begun my new journey. Other artists and projects that I've been involved with either by producing, writing or remixing include Tiffany, Lonnie Gordon, E.G.Daily, Sharyl lee Ralph, Matt Zarley, Wicked Queen, Blue Girl, Sharon T., just to name a few.... and many of which which have climbed up the charts including Siria, Kaci Brown, Ari Gold, Pepper MaShay , "Just Like That" from Amber , and all 3 Debby Holiday singles! More recently I have had the pleasure of doing mixes for Mona Chatterjee, Noa Tylo, Johnny Hazzard, Jason Antone and more... Last year I was music supervisor and appeared in the documentary "Naked Fame" which follows the life or recording artist/ adult film star Colton Ford whom I've produced two songs with - both which appear in the film. I also co-wrote and produced the title song for the movie which was performed by hot new dance Diva, Melissa G. Also on the soundtrack is an unreleased acoustic mix of "Sweet Angel" by Hamilton and ALSO my radio mix of "Naughty Girls Need love too" by Samantha Fox which she re recorded new vocals for! I've had many other songs placed in various indi films, TV and music compilations including an original track entitled "The music turns me on" which can be heard in the film "Circuit". "Dream Weaver" is in the movie "Trick" and "You and me (feels so good)" by Pepper MaShay is in "Queer as Folk" and also "Natoional Lampoon's Dorm Daze". I also have 2 tracks included in the film "Hellbent". Last year I did a remix of the classic song "Come to Me" remade by Miss Lucy (Xena) Lawless herself! The single should hopefully be coming out soon with a whole bunch of great mixes! Another track i did with my buddy Dj Casey Alva is the Theme to "Dante's Cove" aired on HERE! TV called "Dying to be with You". I've done many mixes which haven't been commercially released but have been favorites on the dance floor including Pussycat dolls "stickwitu" , Christina Aguilera "Aint No Other Man" (which i remixed with DJ Rico ), and also "Sexy Back" by Justin Timberlake and "Fergalicious" by Fergie.... I definitely enjoy collaborating with fellow music producers, dj's, songwriters, etc. On the "SOLAR CITY" ship I've been working closely with not only AMOKK but also fellow programmer/producer, Rich Alick who is a very talented guy! We're constantly learning things from each other and have collaborated on many tracks including "Signed, sealed delivered" by Colton Ford, the Samantha Fox track, a Wild Orchid mix (another project that was never released)... Also Debby Holiday, Johnny Hazzard, SIRIA, Pleasure Center, and others including Paul Lekakis. . Paul and I are currently working on material for his upcoming Album. His new single which I was excited to remix "Boom Boom Boom Lets Go Back to my Room" is currently being released on its 20 year reunion! I also, from time to time, write songs with my good buddy and amazing lyricist, Mr. Tommy Walker who i worked together with on the "One World" record.
