KERSE ONE

About Me

"Kerse One", born Antoine C. Davis on December 7, 1973, was raised the youngest of three children in a single parent household in Chicago's infamous Cabrini Green housing project. He founded his swift lyrics and tales of ghetto horror at the young age of nine. Five years later, he moved to the Southside of Chicago, where he polished his abilities as a top caliber break dance and graffiti artist, joining crews like the legendary G.G.C. (Graffiti Groove Crew), Y.M.C.A. (Young Men Creatin Art) and the S.Y.A. (Strugglin Young Artist) Crew. He also became renowned in rhyme circles and freestyle battles, going on to join the ranks of stars such as Common Sense and Twista. He put his dynamic art skills on hold to hustle in search of better opportunities in life. In 1992, Kerse packed up and moved north, landing himself in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he quickly began to reassemble his forever-rising construction of b-boy life, joining all-star groups such as Black Coconuts, E.T.P. (Evil Thorn Patch), and M.E.T. (Middle Eastern Terrorists). Kerse has been displaying verbal superiority ever since being recognized for his witty freestyle deliveries and uncommon punch lines. Kerse has opened up for groups such as The WuTang Clan, The Alkaholiks, D-12, and The Roots, and has worked with local artists such as Rusty Pelicans and well-known producers JTodd, Robski, and Twan Mack (Top Floor). He is currently working on his first solo debut, set to drop in 2007. With the combination of strong intellectual content, extremely clever punch lines, and energetic deliverance, Kerse is sure to raise the bar in Hip Hop for years to come.
