I've just finished my degree at Newman College of Higher Education and have recently been offered a PhD there. The PhD is a doctorate in psychology, looking at the effects of stress on the carers of people with dysexecutive syndrome (brain damage to the frontal lobes).
Until recently, I had been working at Newman in marketing, and was strongly considering this as a less stressful career than academia or clinical work. I also liked the idea of being a Marketeer!
I'm using this Mice-Space as more of a personal website and a collection of links, pics and music, rather than for social networking. If you want to contact me, please try me on Facebook
I'm very happy at the moment and it will be interesting to see how long this lasts! I would describe myself as being in a post Hippy, post Buddhist and post Kung Fu phase. I'm currently trying to get the right balance between being too stressed and being too laid back... its not an easy balance to find and I suspect it may be a dynamic balance.
What do you need to know about me? You are my friend already right?
About this page design:
Over the last year or so I've started to enjoy making web pages. Its just really nice to lay out all the pretty graphics and boxes and seeing what happens when you hack and paste bits of other peoples code with no real idea of what its going to look like. Its a bit like solving algebra by trial and error. Except there's no right answer, its just whatever looks pretty.
If you ask me nicely I will find an amusing hound to post on your Myspace. If you give me sexual favours I will Pimp up your Myspace to the MAX ;).
Some of my Art:
I very rarely paint things nowadays, but one day my friend Ali got her paints and brushes out and I made this:

Books:

I tend to read philosophy and SF, anything that is an exercise for my imagination. I recommend any book by:

Frank Herbert
Philip K Dick
Iain M Banks
Philip Pullman
Peter Hamilton

Richard Dawkins is also amazing, as is Aldous Huxley.

Those two authors in particular describe the two extremes of the human being, from the Biological to the Spiritual.

Heroes:

My current heroes are Dann and Katie.

Worries: We are Destroying our Planet. We are all part of Mother Earth and she is starting to Die.

My Family!!! Me and Scott, my Mum, George, Amy and Kenn.

Amy and Kenn, with Scott, George and their Puppy "Munchies"
