Ish often traveled with his mother, and therefore enjoyed a broad understanding of different cultures at a very young age. He spent most of his early years in the tropical paradises of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Music has always been a huge part of Ish’s life. His upbringing allowed him to grow with the sounds of Stevie Wonder, Toots and the Maytals and Bob Dylan giving him an appreciation for a diverse group of musical genres. Ish’s talent and passion for music is a product of his family’s rich history in the music business. Ish’s grandfather was a well-known Calypso singer in Jamaica and his father Ras Lees single "Moonlight Lover" was nominated for a Juno award in 1986 for Best Reggae Song. Following high school, Ish decided to put his love for music into practice by moving to New York City to attend the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts. It was there that Ish expanded his artistic horizons by appearing in TV shows, commercials, movies and music videos. It was also at this time that Ish collaborated with the all female Canadian trio X-Quisite. The trio gave him not only an acting role in their video but also featured him on the remix of their hit single “No Regrets.” Although acting was fun for Ish; his passion to write and record music could not be ignored. Ish soon began writing for up and coming artists and formulating ideas for his own career as a recording artist. His hard work soon paid off when he released the song "Alright" which enjoyed good rotation across Canadian radio airwaves and was also used for an episode on the Showtime series “Soul food”. Recently, Ish took his next big step on the way to the top of the music Industry when he signed to Canada’s own Northern Heights Records. Ish will also be found heating up a “Cold December” on the official remix and in the video with Cory Lee. Along with the music video appearance you can also find Ish on the big screen this year with some new releases that Ish has filmed in the last couple months. Ish is currently in the studio working on new material for his debut full length album which is set to drop in Spring 2008!
