About Me

I create metal sculptures. Mostly figurative pieces of women and horses. Using new steel and found objects, I strive to create fluid sculptures that look like they could walk out of the the room. I have been working with steel for 18 years and show my work in galleries around the country. Check out my web site jjohnsonstudio.com.

My Interests

Art, Music, people watching, laughing till I can't hold in the tears...love, positive things in life that most people don't see, like the finding and chasing a wilting balloon through a field in the middle of no-where, finding the tiniest of shells, perfect in form amongst a bunch of broken pieces being slammed with waves, or watching two people in their 80's holding hands in the park... "; .. <a

I'd like to meet:

artistic, funky, musical, amusing, intelligent, people. You do not have to meet all requirements and not necessarily in that order..... "; .. <a

Music:

just about anything... but I love to sing blues and classic rock. I was in a band as the lead singer, the band had some problems with a guitarist and I decided that it shouldn't be that difficult to get together for fun. So, I am currently looking for quality musicians in my area who would like to play, gig, and have some fun with some cool music. I wrote and recorded live "I Won't Wait" playing here on my space. Let me know what you think?.. "; .. <a

Movies:

action flicks to foreign films...as long as I am in good company.. "; .. <a

Television:

not much..... "; .. <a

Books:

Sappy mindless books help me sleep at night.. "; .. <a

Heroes:

My parents, my kids, and anyone with honesty and integrity.. "; .. <a

My Blog

The Holiday Bends

So funny how people get so bend during the holidays. I am an avid people watcher, and I am always amused at how many people are in such a hurry. Typical rat race. And as always, they are the least pat...
