CITY RHYTHM
Rock and Roll Music
There was a time when people actually danced to rock and roll. Those times are back with City Rhythm.
Formed by singer/songwriter, record producer and music industry educator, Bob Porembski as a way to bring rock and roll music to hospital and nursing home patients who would not otherwise get to attend such a show, City Rhythm now brings its own brand of classic rock and roll to everybody.
Bob is a songwriter with national and international television and radio credits. His songwriting draws on a wealth of influences including, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Motown, Surf Music and 60's pop. His song, "Feelin' More Like Christmas", is a seasonal TV hit that has been featured on CBS, USA Network, Trio Network and BRAVO.
Bob's music has also been aired internationally in Hong Kong, Chile, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Slovakia, Australia, Belgium and Canada.
"Good Morning, I Love You", (co-written with Ken Higgins) from the PHAM! CD, "ac-ro-nym...", was featured on the edgy sitcom, "Good Girls Don't". Bob also wrote the official theme song for Special Olympics, "Take a Hand, Make a Friend".
Most recently, his "Rainy Day Song" has been placed on a new children's CD.
These same songwriting influences extend to City Rhythm's repertoire. With a song list that spans four decades of rock and roll music, City Rhythm simply plays all the songs people really like! Whether its Chuck Berry, Marvin Gaye or Lennon and McCartney every set is full of classic rock and roll that everybody knows and loves.
Playing jingly jangly rock guitar that earned him the nickname "Bobby Guitar", his "World Tour 2007" culminated with performances at the legendary Cavern Club (birthplace of The Beatles) in Liverpool, England.
City Rhythm plays the songs as they were meant to be played -- authentically.
Bob Porembski, City Rhythm and PHAM! are proud to perform for Hospital Audiences, Inc.
Bob is on the faculty of the Music Industry and Technology Program at Mercy College.
