Unstopher Rawls

Spawned from the fertile musical soil of Johnson, Vermont, Unstopher Rawls are a four piece improvisational monster with a deranged, obsessive work ethic. They know that if a rock band plays for less than four hours they’re not working hard enough. Comprised of Brett Lanier on pedal steel and electric guitars, Adam Witkowski on electric guitar, Ben Contois on bass guitar, and drummer Sean Preece, Unstopher Rawls are a diverse gang of omnivorous musicaholics, each with their own unique background. Lanier is a bop-soloing jazz school dropout gone country, and he is not afraid to whip out the Jimi licks. Witkowski is a walking encyclopedia of classic rock, who grew up among some of the finest polka grooves in the United States. Contois has played in hardcore bands, reggae bands, country bands, and ska bands, dropping the rumble like Godzilla dropped helicopters. Preece, who has previously played with former Deep Banana Blackout guitarist Fuzz, possesses chops a mile long that grow another few feet everyday. Together, with influences ranging from Igor Stravinsky to Buddy Emmons to Frank Zappa to The Band to Miles Davis, these guys rock harder than Gibraltar. But don’t listen to me, listen to them.
